An early meeting

Lori has a 6:30 meeting at the hospital this morning so we’re up and moving here at 5am. Today I’m swamped with phone calls, lots and lots to do. I have to keep things together the next two months so we finish the first half of the year strong. I have a couple problem regions in the Country I’m not quite sure how to fix just yet. Hopefully it’ll all come together.

Yesterday in Ty’s class, they had a surprise visitor, Lindsey Vonn. For those of you that don’t know her, she’s the most decorated female skier in history and is here from Vail. She also dated Tiger Woods for a few years for those of you that don’t follow sking. It was one of Ty’s classmates birthday and she showed up for the celebration. Ty wasn’t too impressed though as he’s a snowboarder. He said all the girls were getting selfies (pictures of themselves) with her but he didn’t really care. I sure would have taken a picture with her!

Well I’m trying to stay away from politics but today I can’t resist as Bernie won another one! I won’t bash you know who, or even mention her name, but how can the democrats steal the nomination from Bernie when he’s won more States and has more people voting for him than her. I guess it’s just another example of the people not really deciding who is in office but yet again, the elites deciding for us. Anyhow, she’d better look out as Oregon is up next and it’s one of the most progressive States in our Country. I’ll leave it at that so I don’t make anyone mad. Say what you will about Trump and the republicans but you can’t say the elites are deciding who’s the nominee on that side as they’d prefer anyone but Trump. Look out though, he’s now leading you know who in Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio which you have to win to be President. He’s also starting to tone it down and surround himself with smart people and could just be our next President. The more I think about it, it couldn’t be any worse than what we’ve had. In fact, it would so dismantle the status quo it’s probably a good thing. At least all those politicians that only serve themselves would probably get the boot, on both sides. Time for a reset, right? Hold onto your hats for the next 6 months.

It was snowing hard when I went over the pass yesterday morning but turned to rain by the afternoon. It’s supposed to warm up soon but rain will be back on and off next week as after all, it is Colorado. Guess I’ll run, hope all’s well, take care and God Bless.

Rain

Yea, it’s raining outside, not heavy, but still rain. Today I’m off to Big D and Dr. C is back from Cuba. On Friday he’s off to Napa, good to be a doctor.

The boys are doing well at school. Not much time left to finish up the year. I think I’ll take Mojo with me today as he likes to go everywhere he can in the car. Not much else going on since I’m ignoring politics these days. Sooner or later I’m going to have to revisit it.

We’re looking forward to the warmer temperatures later this week. Guess I’ll run as everyone needs to get moving and on the road early today. Take care and enjoy the day.

2 1/2 weeks to go

That’s right, 2 1/2 weeks of school left! What? That can’t be, let me double check. Yup, I was right, about 13 days left of school. We can’t believe it. Then summer is on. June 5th Jag is off to Austin for a 3 day seminar on entrepreneurship, I’m off to Seattle and Lori is going to try to go to Sacramento for Jim’s memorial service. Ty will most likely have to go with Mom for the quick trip.

Today and this week Lori and I have lots of work. The boys have finals coming up and a lot to do too. We have a light dusting of the white stuff on the ground but it will melt soon. We were going to try to go to the gym this morning but it’s already 6:24.

Guess that’s it, hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day. We went for a quick bite around 2 in the afternoon. Time to get moving, hope all’s well, GB.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom, Dixie, Annette, Eleanor (think she’s still reading) and of course Lori. Hope you all have a good day.

Not sure what we’re doing today. We might bomb down to Denver to see my Mom depending on how Lori’s back is feeling. Last night both boys were out late. Ty made it home around 10pm and Jag an hour or so later. They both had fun and Lori and I took it easy. All of us except Ty went to the gym yesterday which was also a fun time and then Lori and I took a drive to exchange some workout pants she received for her birthday.

We did manage to clean the upstairs but have a huge pile of laundry downstairs. Two boys sure can pile it up fast.

It’s sunny out now with a few snow flakes on the deck. Nothing stuck anywhere on the ground though and it’s supposed to finally start getting nice around mid week.

Everyone is still sleeping but I guess I’ll run as there’s work to be done. Again, Happy Mother’s Day, wish we could be with you all, have fun and enjoy your day, God Bless.

Staying home

We were headed to Denver to to see my Mom but she just called saying she wasn’t feeling well and was going back to bed to rest. We had some errands and appointments in town but will skip those until next week. Hope she’s feeling better.

The boys are sleeping and it’s a little cloudy outside. I think we’re supposed to have some showers on and off for the next few days. We had a little rain and golf ball size snow balls come down yesterday afternoon. It’s probably good we don’t have to drive down as it’s supposed to hail in Denver.

It was a long week and frankly I have a long 2 months until I finish up the 2nd quarter at the end of June. I need to pace myself and not get overwhelmed. Lori has a lot of work to do too. Even though summer hasn’t started, it seems like Fall is right around the corner.

As I said yesterday, make some time for yourself and enjoy each day. Hope everyone has a good weekend and hope Annette is doing well, Take care and GB.

R.I.P. Jim

On May 3rd, Annette lost her best friend and husband Jim. Most of us know this but it was a shock to all. Jim was a great guy with great stories that was Lori’s first point of contact in finding Annette years ago. He was quick to jump up and play with the boys and accommodate any and all of their wishes as they played and explored on the massive house boat. One of my favorite memories is a photo of Lori and I on the boat either right before we were married or right after. I think Annette sent us the picture but remember the exact moment when Jim took it. Even last year at Don’s memorial, he played with the boys and they together took a bunch of pictures and he then put together a book for them. He also took the boys tubing behind the speed boat up and down the river, much to their delight. He’ll be missed by all and am sure he had many many friends who feel the same. This is but yet another reminder how fleeting life is. We never know what’s around the next bend so you’d better enjoy where you’re at each and every day. God Bless him and may he rest in peace.

Yesterday I was in Denver for a quick trip and lunch appointment. Then we headed out to Elway’s for dinner. The food was super salty so we’re all swollen this morning. Should have probably stayed home, ha ha.

Today the kids have a slow day at school and Lori and I are back at work. Tomorrow we’re headed down to Denver to see my Mom and then will celebrate Mother’s Day up here with Lori on Sunday. Wish we could be with Dixie and Annette too. We’ll be thinking about you. Hope all’s well, take care and GB.

80 in Denver

This morning I need to go to Denver for a meeting at noon. One of my largest accounts has a new buyer and we’re having a lunch meeting to get to know each other. Yesterday I was on the phone for what seemed like an eternity. I wrapped up around 2:30 when it was time to get the kids. We bought Lori some flowers and a workout outfit for her birthday. We didn’t really eat dinner, just a piece of pie. We’re going to make it sort of a birthday weekend for her. My buddy Matt made us a couple of huge planters we need to pick up Saturday so we’ll plant some flowers or veggies this weekend.

Guess I’d better run as it’s 6:20 and I’d like to be on the road by 7. Hope all’s well, take care, enjoy the day and God Bless.

Happy Birthday Lori!

Today is the misses birthday, whoo hoo! I have 3 conference calls but Lori is taking the day off. I think she’s going to Denver to see her friend at her old office. She should be back by 2pm.

Yesterday I had the final check-up to make sure my new teeth are how I like them. Next up is the first or maybe final fitting. After that I had a check-up with the cardiologist and it turns out I’m healthy as a horse or whatever the saying is, knock on wood. He told me that I make his job easy and said my pulse is jumping out of my feet and ankles which apparently they check to see how well your heart is pumping blood. Anyhow that’s good news.

It was warm yesterday meaning everyone’s allergies are kicking in. All of us, although Ty not as bad, have stuffy noses. Jag and I just went to the gym to lift some weights and are now back and making a protein shake for breakfast. The kids have assesment tests this week which I think are a waste of time but it is what it is. Not sure what we’re doing tonight but we’ll let you know tomorrow.

Now I could go on about Trump and Hillary but I won’t. Instead though, and this is fair game as it affects all of us, check out the article about a Country that had socialized medicine and is now going back to privatized care, hmm.

Sweden’s Trademark Universal Healthcare On Its Deathbed

by CHRIS JOHNCOX

When leftists fantasize about Northern Europe, the first thing they think of is the region’s enormous public spending and its overly generous welfare state. However, as with all dreams, the time is coming to wake up. Along with several other social services, Sweden’s iconic “free” healthcare system’s days are numbered.

Sweden’s insurance trade industry organization, Svensk Försäkring reports:

The number of private health care insurance policies has increased in recent years. In 2011 about 440,000 people had private health care insurance. Most of these people have their policy paid by their employer.

SwedenPrivHealth

Additionally, The Local recently reported that nearly “One in ten Swedes now has private health insurance,” with rising policy demand extending to half a million Swedes and growing throughout the 9.5 million living in the country.

From The Local:

“It’s quicker to get a colleague back to work if you have an operation in two weeks’ time rather than having to wait for a year,” privately insured Anna Norlander told Sveriges Radio on Friday. “It’s terrible that I, as a young person, don’t feel I can trust the health care system to take care of me.”

The Local also reminds us that the Achilles heel of all socialist systems plagues the Swedish medical system, stating:

“Visitors are sometimes surprised to learn about year-long waiting times for cancer patients.”

This is an unfortunate reality in an industry where suppliers cannot predict market prices for a service and therefore must ration, causing poor service and over-inflated demand. The only logical conclusion that one could derive from this situation is that demand for supplemental private insurance skyrockets because of the inadequate government healthcare system.

In the 1970s, Sweden began to replace its market economy with a socialist planned one. When that proved unaffordable in the 90s, Sweden then began to re-privatize industries and let economic laws of laissez faire capitalism begin to take root once more. Now, Sweden’s public spending has decreased nearly 20% in the last 20 years and its taxes are lower than France, Belgium, and Denmark.

That’s not to say Sweden still doesn’t have a long way to go in restoring its social atmosphere. Sweden is still in many ways a cultural-Marxist hellscape and its restriction on owning firearms or other tools for self defense has earned it the title of “rape capital of the west.”

In any case, it was only a matter of time before the lies of left-wing politicians and the usual failures of socialist economic policies caused people to embrace the free market and entrepreneurship, hopefully this time for good.

People, Capitalism and Free Markets are not dirty words! Wake up and God Bless

One day to go!

Tomorrow is the misses birthday! Not sure that we’ll do much of anything with it being a Wednesday but we’ll celebrate somehow.

Today I have two more conference calls and Lori has clinic with one nurse out sick. Turns out Dr C was on the first cruise ship to Cuba. It was on the news yesterday. Now that’s something to remember.

This morning before my conference calls I have a couple of appointments. Today I’ll give you all a break from politics even though many of you have said how much you enjoy it. Maybe tomorrow we’ll get back to it, even though yesterdays differences between a State run by democrats (Illinois) and one (Oklahoma) run by republicans was an honest and stark comparison. Even if you don’t like it, the truth is the truth.  Guess that’s if for the day, take care and GB.

Back at it

Man, we just can’t get enough sleep. Every morning, no matter how early we go to bed, we’re still tired. Anyhow it’s time to get up and get after it. Of course the kids are back in school and Lori and I at work. I have conference calls today and tomorrow with today’s lasting from 9am until 2:30pm.

Our house is still clean, whoo hoo, and we’re planning on keeping it that way. We still need to clean up and downstairs plus do about 6 loads of laundry. Hard to believe it’s May 2nd but it is. Here’s some good news, we are 128 days from the Bronco’s season opener! Now just for fun, check out this comparison of Illinois and Oklahoma, it’s pretty interesting. I thought these two states, made for an interesting contrast. The first part is about Illinois and the second part is about Oklahoma !

PART 1 – Illinois, “A State with No Republicans”!

Some interesting data on the ‘state’ of, the State of Illinois … There are more people on welfare in Illinois than there are people working. Chicago pays the highest wages to teachers than anywhere else in the U.S. Their average pay is $110,000/year. Their pensions average 80-90% of their income. Wow, are Illinois and Chicago great or what? Be sure to read till the end. I’ve never heard it explained better. Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago ?

Body count:

In the last six months, 292 killed ( murdered ) in Chicago .

221 killed in Iraq ; AND Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire US.

Now here’s the Chicago chain of command :

President: Barack Hussein Obama .

Senator: Dick Durbin .

House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr. .

Governor: Pat Quinn .

House leader: Mike Madigan .

Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike) .

Mayor: Rahm Emanuel .

The leadership in Illinois – all Democrats. .

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago. Of course, they’re all blaming each other. .

Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any! .

Let us get ALL the facts out while we are at it:

Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country. Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!

State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.

Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois . And he is going to ‘fix’Washington politics for us?

George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in prison.

He was replaced by Rob Blagojevich who is, by the way, also in prison.

And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned and, that’s right, he and his wife are both in prison.

The Land of Lincoln , where our Governors and Representatives make our license plates. What?

As long as they keep providing entitlements to the population of Chicago , nothing is going to change, except the state will go bankrupt before the country does.

“Anybody who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.”

PART 2- Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA- may soon have plenty of new residents!

THIS IS REALLY INTERESTING, AND TRUE… PLEASE READ IT!

Oklahoma is the only state that Obama did not win even one county in the last election… While everyone is focusing on Arizona ‘s new law, look what Oklahoma has been doing!!!

An update from Oklahoma :

Oklahoma law passed, 37 to 9 an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a conservative state, based on Christian values… HB 1330

Guess what… Oklahoma did it anyway.

Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. HB1804. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.

Guess what…. Oklahoma did it anyway.

Recently we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegal’s to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional SB1102.

Guess what… Oklahoma did it anyway.

Several weeks ago, Oklahoma passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining, Texas , Montana and Utah as the only states to do so.

More states are likely to follow: Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, the Carolinas, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Mississippi and Florida. Save your confederate money, it appears the South is about to rise up once again. HJR 1003

The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns.

Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I’m sure that was a setback for the criminals The Liberals didn’t like it-

But..

Guess what…. Oklahoma did it anyway.

Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law that ALL drivers’ license exams will be printed in English and only English and no other language. They have been called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of the road signs are in English only. If you want to drive in Oklahoma , you must read and write English. Really simple.

By the way, the Liberals don’t like any of this either.

Guess what… who cares… Oklahoma is doing it anyway.

So, what do you think now? Hmmm
