On May 3rd, Annette lost her best friend and husband Jim. Most of us know this but it was a shock to all. Jim was a great guy with great stories that was Lori’s first point of contact in finding Annette years ago. He was quick to jump up and play with the boys and accommodate any and all of their wishes as they played and explored on the massive house boat. One of my favorite memories is a photo of Lori and I on the boat either right before we were married or right after. I think Annette sent us the picture but remember the exact moment when Jim took it. Even last year at Don’s memorial, he played with the boys and they together took a bunch of pictures and he then put together a book for them. He also took the boys tubing behind the speed boat up and down the river, much to their delight. He’ll be missed by all and am sure he had many many friends who feel the same. This is but yet another reminder how fleeting life is. We never know what’s around the next bend so you’d better enjoy where you’re at each and every day. God Bless him and may he rest in peace.
Yesterday I was in Denver for a quick trip and lunch appointment. Then we headed out to Elway’s for dinner. The food was super salty so we’re all swollen this morning. Should have probably stayed home, ha ha.
Today the kids have a slow day at school and Lori and I are back at work. Tomorrow we’re headed down to Denver to see my Mom and then will celebrate Mother’s Day up here with Lori on Sunday. Wish we could be with Dixie and Annette too. We’ll be thinking about you. Hope all’s well, take care and GB.
