December 5th

Ok, now we’re getting Grandma Eleanor’s comments so here’s another one,

  1. LLF says:

Thank you for the lovely comments, Grandma Eleanor.

  2. Thanks! It has been invigorating to know more about the future of silver and gold. When and if you can come down and see us even thou going to be short, there are things I need to know more about , our paper money when it goes down the drain, and I still have money in the bank, how will that work for me? I also understand that the government says you can only spend 30 percent of your worth, when you by gold. It’s mind bogeling, I’m going to be 80 years old next year I just want to do right by my children for their future.

First off, glad you figured out how to comment, now to your questions. The beauty of buying gold and silver coins right now, is they can’t be tracked. In other words, you do not have to fill out any paper work to buy or sell gold and silver. You can just walk into a coin shop and give them your money and buy coins, or go sell coins at anytime, no questions asked. A lot of the gold dealers you see running tv ads tout this fact in their ads. So if you had, let’s say, $50,000 or $100,000 in the bank, first we’d say, “you go girl!”,  but then if you wanted to buy gold, you could walk into a shop and just buy it. Now if it were me, I wouldn’t buy too much at the same shop just as a security precaution. You don’t want anyone knowing what or how much you buy. I’d probably go buy 5 ounces of gold at various shops which is about $8500 and make a point of telling the shop that you are buying these to give one to each of your grandkids. This way no one thinks an 80 year old lady has lots of gold coins laying around her house. And by all means, do not show any id or give anyone your address. This whole concept is known as OPSEC meaning Operational Security which is a military term basically meaning, keep your business to yourself or don’t tell anyone anything about your finances or anything valuable. If you’d like to get some, I can certainly help by getting you a referral from a reputable dealer here. In any case, you’re doing the right thing questioning the long term sustainability of our currency.

Now to the day, it’s a freakin mess around here. The misses is tearing the place apart, cleaning and rearranging for the party. I don’t see how we can make it to the party in Colorado Springs tonight. We might have to opt out. The boys are well and all is good. The oldest guys band concert is tomorrow night at 7:30 pm, right smack dab in the middle of the Bronco game, but of course, I’ll be there. This morning the misses gets her hair done and I get mine trimmed at 9am.

It looks like we’ll finally get some snow around here, especially in the mountains which really need it. Lots going on in the World from tsunami radiation wreckage showing up on the shores of Hawaii to earthquakes to the fiscal cliff to I think Princess Kate in England having morning sickness. Man do I hope we don’t have 9 months of baby coverage on tv! What’s wrong with our society.

It’s now 5:30 so time to run. Hope all’s well with everyone. Oh crap, here’s the hospital on tv now where Princess Kate is staying, whoo hoo!

    God Bless

Missing comments

For some reason, all of Grandma Eleanor’s comments were going to the spam file. We are now receiving over 3000 comments a month with most of them spam so we just missed these. Here’s 3 from her we found to catch you all up. Thanks for the comments G’ma E!

For some other reason I can’t format these properly so I will address each one now before you read them below as I can’t seem to figure out how to type below them.

Comment #1, You’re very perceptive wanting to know about gold. Many wealthy investors from George Soros to Jim Rogers to Warren Buffet along with many institutions like the University of Texas (who bought and took physical possession of 1 Billion dollars worth of gold!) as well as many countries are putting all their money in gold. In fact, many European countries are trying to get their gold back from the U.S. depositories that are supposedly holding it. This includes Germany, the U.K. and others. The problem is the U.S. won’t give it to them as they no longer have it! There have been many efforts by Ron Paul and others to gain access to Fort Knox to audit our gold but the government refuses to give them access as they too no longer have it! This is all caused by countries understanding that their paper currency is worthless and no longer backed by gold. You see all our money was at one time backed by gold. This is referred to as the gold standard. In other words, the paper currency (our dollar bills) were just supposed to be a more convenient way of doing business rather than trading actual gold but there was supposed to always be enough gold to back all the paper money. Sadly this is no longer the case due to the government just printing money as they need it. You can go to www.kitco.com to track the metals market every day. This is the site all the dealers use when buying or selling precious metals. Now on the subject of metals, I would suggest you invest in silver. It has much more of an upside than gold as it’s used commercially and is under valued in the ratio of its value to gold and has been for some years. Most noted analysts see silver going up as high as $200 to $400 an ounce by 2015. Currently it’s around $34 an ounce based on yesterdays close. This would mean a 10 fold or 1000% return if it hits $300. Gold on the other hand is projected at $5000 an ounce best case and closed at $1717 yesterday meaning only a 300% return. Of note, on December 14th, the government will announce the new metal configuration for pennies and nickels. They will no longer use “nickel” in nickels as it currently cost about 8 cents to make a nickel. There’s a famous investor who bought 1 Million dollars worth of nickels knowing soon a nickel will be worth a dime or more and be traded just like silver and gold. Lots of people are buying a few boxes ($100 a box for 2000 nickels) to save as an investment. We have a few boxes for the boys just for fun. So there you have it on Metals 101. This is not a small thing as most savvy investors are holding some kinds of metals. One note, you must take physical possession of your gold and silver meaning do not leave it in a bank, take it home. The other hot investment by these mega investors is farm land. They are buying thousands of acres of farm land as they understand that there will be a food shortage very very soon. More on this in the coming days.

For your next 2 comments, yes the misses is quite special, we all know that and are truly blessed to have her and yes, she is also quite the little decorator! Last night she took off some interior doors and put them in the garage! And last, the boys really are great kids, we’re very lucky and you can really see this when you see some of the other kids out there.

So yesterday the misses was getting a pedicure downtown while I was picking up and unloading a pallet of wine. When unloading, I felt my back pull kind of like in slow motion. I’m not hunched over, just tender and sore. I think it’ll go away soon but have to be careful. I continued to carry wine (I had to) but will stay away from the gym today.

I have some errands today and the misses does too! Our Bocelli press event in New York yesterday went great. We should have a bunch of press (articles) coming out very soon, we’ll keep you posted. It’s now 6am so time to run. Go buy some gold or silver, it will out perform the stock market, hands down. (silver has outperformed the stock market by  86% in the past 10 years!) Plus you’ll have the peace knowing where your money is and that no one (like the government) can take it!

Take care and God Bless,

Grandma E’s comments,

I like hearing about your thoughts about politics , economy, I am interested in if you can talk about the gold market, like in put about the future investment in gold. I heard that the banks are buying up the gold, j.c. Morgan hand in it too.

The description of your home decorations for the Christmas season is out standing, I can visionalize what it looks like, the description is favorable. Your dad is so proud of you, he said,( she is so talented) I second it. You are blessed god gave you strength, indurance to get you through it. God bless

For some time I wanted to say that grandpa bob and grandma Eleanor are very proud of Jag and Ty .you are good parents, you give them space to learn, and experience, opportunity to travel.

What a game

Most of our day yesterday was consumed with football. Getting ready for the game, going to the game, at the game and then coming home from the game. Thankfully the football gods were watching over us and we won! We’re now 9 and 3 and have a chance for home field advantage if we can win out or maybe even go 3 and 1. Good times in Denver.

I did receive 1 comment yesterday from my request for input on what to include in the blog, here it is,

Annette says:

I vote to keep doing what you are doing.

Thanks Grandma Annette,

Now just like the big O, I’ll take this as an overwhelming mandate from 99.9% of the American people and keep plugging away. Everything is not political as you know I tend to go back and forth between economics and the challenges we face as a people or society. So in that spirit, here’s some fun facts concerning the big 2012 theory. Check this out, pretty interesting.

Planetary Alignment with the Pyramids of Giza

planet-alignment-giza-pyramids

Now, no matter what you may think about the significance (or lack thereof) of a very interesting planetary alignment on December-3 2012, the fact is… it is happening and seems fairly remarkable.

On 12.3.12, the layout of the three pyramids of Giza in Egypt will line up (exactly) with the position of the planets Saturn, Venus, and Mercury.

The planets will not be floating directly over the pyramids in alignment (like some of the images I’ve seen floating around the internet), however the position of the planets themselves in the early morning sky will pattern exactly with the layout of the pyramids.

I was suspicious myself, so I decided to do my own due diligence. Besides, I enjoy a bit of astronomy now and again…I’ll bet you can really see the stars well from Oklahoma, right Grandma Dix?

First, using the free program ‘Stellarium’, which shows stars, planets, and other space objects with relation to a time, date, and geographical position, I set the program location for the coordinates of Giza, Egypt. Then, after setting the date to the early morning DEC-3, looking WSW, I captured the image of the planetary positions of Saturn, Venus, and Mercury.

Then, using Google Earth, I zoomed in on the location of the three Giza pyramids and captured that image.

Finally, I adjusted the relative image size to see if the three planets truly lined up to the same pattern as the three Giza pyramids. The result is shown in the image at the top of this article, and as you can see, they do line up.

Is it meaningful? Who knows… It is a curious observation to say the least.

To take it further… I found this factoid… there are 25,920 Minutes from December 3, 2012, 11:11am to December 21, 2012, 11:11am. 25,920 is also apparently the length of time for us to make a 360 degree rotation all the way around our Milky Way galaxy (years), also known as the Precession of the Equinox… and is the same length of time of the Mayan calendar… which ends on DEC-21 2012. Interesting symmetry, yes?

The ancient Egyptians were really ahead of their game. We (our scientists) still don’t understand the pyramids and astrological meanings of their society. Isn’t it amazing how civilizations from thousands of years ago still know more about some things than we do even with all our modern technological advancements and supposedly superior intellect. Maybe as my Mom used to say, “we’re too smart for our own good”, or in other words, we’re not as smart as we think we are, hmmm.

History can teach you a lot. In fact, history is the mother of all teachers as it’s true what they say, everything pretty much repeats its self. Yet like little children, we refuse to learn from our past and think we know best. Well, take it for what you will. No matter what you believe, some things are just too coincidental and at least deserve some attention, but that’s up to each of you.

It’s a super busy week around here with things going on each day. I’ll fill you in more tomorrow as it’s after 7am now and I’m already feeling the pressure of the day. Have a great week, take care and God Bless.

Football and 60 degrees

Today the family is going to the Bronoc’s and Bucs (Tampa Bay) game and it’ll be around 60 degrees at kick off! It should be around 15 degrees but the weather is all out of whack. California is getting hit with big storms and too much rain while we still have a wild fire that’s been burning since October. Crazy.

Next year I think we’ll do something new with the blog. We’re going to separate the political and economical musings from the family happenings. You see this way you won’t have to read about our thoughts on your future if you choose not to. We don’t think most people are going to change their views no matter what they read. I just thought, with most of you readers being family, I had to try. Well, for those of you that don’t want to or don’t enjoy it, you will now be able to opt out. Or, how about this for an idea, let’s have a poll, if you would no longer like to have any news of the World, send a comment saying so and if you like it, also let us know. Of course like the big O, I’ll probably do what I want anyhow.

Now to the family, I just received a call from my Mom wanting to know if I’m going to the gym. When I pressed her as to why, it came out she would like to have an almond croissant from Whole Foods. A few months ago I brought her one and she really liked it so I think she’s now hooked on them! So since she’s my Mom, I have to go, so here’s the misses to finish up!

Yesterday, we dropped in on Grandma to visit a bit.  She had some old electronics that she gave to the boys and they were ecstatic over the “New” old trinkets. The boys went upstairs at Grandma’s to check out the “Teddy Bear” room and investigate Grandpa’s office. Both rooms were big hits with the kiddos. After the visit we loaded up and went over to our friends new house.  The house is charming, but definitely built for people no taller than 5’10”. The were more than a few entries that the Mr. had to duck or hit his head. The historic home  has plaster on the walls and ceilings, cira 1940’s.  The upstairs bathroom has pink tile with black and burgundy accent tiles…that should be the most fun room of all to work on.

The boys had a lot of fun playing with Chelsea and Mike’s 1 and a 1/2 year old daughter, Hamden.  The oldest proved to be quite the baby sitter and the youngest quite the playmate.  Actually both boys were great playmates.  Libby, Hamden’s grandma had just given Hamden a new pair of ruby red glitter Mary Jane’s for Christmas shoes and wanted her to put them on.  Of course Hamden said, “NO” until our oldest asked.  She shook her head yes and plopped down on her bum, feet up and ready for our oldest and youngest to put her pretty new shoes on her. She proudly displayed the shoes and kept them on the rest of the time we were there.

We left at 6 and picked up one of the oldest’s friends on the way home.  The kids played for a while and then we all sat down to watch a movie.  I took the friend home at 9:40, came home and we all headed to bed.

The kiddos slept in….one until almost 7 and one until 7:45.  Time to make breakfast.

Have a great day and God Bless.

December 1st, 2012

I remember when I thought January 1st, 2000 was far far away. Where does the time go? Do you ever look back on the years and say, I wish I did that? I’m sure everyone does to some extent as the old saying “hindsight is 20 20” is absolutely true. Since we all know that, do yourself a favor and make some plans now to do something, even just one thing, you’ve always wanted to do, next year. You’ll be glad you did.

Now on to the stories of the day. First here’s a comment from Grandma Annette,

Annette says:

Thanks for the birthday call guys. I agree with you Doug people are going to get what they asked for. They are also talking about not allowing deductions for interest on a house. Think what that will do to a housing industry already in trouble.

Now to a couple of stories in the news and then we’ll get to the family, I promise. First up, we have Vladimir Putin and the Russian people warning us about the path to socialism we are on and the big O’s misguided plan for America, check this out, pretty disturbing coming from Russia! After all, who knows better about socialism and communism than the Russians?

Russian Paper: “Obama’s Fools and Stalin’s Fools Share the Same Drink of Illusion”

You know there’s trouble on the horizon when leaders of formerly Communist countries are warning Americans about the dangers of redistribution, taxation and the centralization of monetary and economic policy.

He is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so.

How shrewd he is in America.

His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. They will continue to follow him like those fools who still praise Lenin and Stalin in Russia.  Obama’s fools and Stalin’s fools share the same drink of illusion.

Reading Putin’s speech without knowing the author, one would think it was written by Reagan or another conservative in America. The speech promotes smaller government and less taxes. It comes as no surprise to those who know Putin as a conservative. Vladimir Putin went on to say:

“…we are reducing taxes on production, investing money in the economy. We are optimizing state expenses.

The second possible mistake would be excessive interference into the economic life of the country and the absolute faith into the all-mightiness of the state.

There are no grounds to suggest that by putting the responsibility over to the state, one can achieve better results.

Unreasonable expansion of the budget deficit, accumulation of the national debt – are as destructive as an adventurous stock market game.

During the time of the Soviet Union the role of the state in economy was made absolute, which eventually lead to the total non-competitiveness of the economy.

That lesson cost us very dearly. I am sure no one would want history to repeat itself.”

Source: Pravda

There should be no question as to whether President Obama is a Socialist. But socialism is just the appetizer; Communism is the main course.

His rhetoric, and more importantly his actions, have left no doubt that his personal ideologies are rooted within a concept that has been vehemently rejected by Americans throughout our nation’s history:

By all accounts, the ideas of Marx fundamentally transformed the face of the planet – and not necessarily for the betterment of society. If anything, his ideas have led to less personal liberty and more State control over every aspect of the peoples’ lives.

Despite its failures, however, there are many who, perhaps unwittingly, still support Communism’s core principles.

In fact, at least 60 million Americans (51%) support such left-leaning socialist/communist policies, as evidenced by our last Presidential election. To them, there exists a Utopia where the rich, wealthy and those deemed “more fortunate” can be pillaged to create equality for all.

But like all illusions, and regardless of President Obama’s best efforts to create a perfect society, State control over food, housing, technology, travel and the general economy will end in complete and utter failure.

We need look only at the Soviet Union to understand what the end result will be.

President Obama wants to fundamentally transform the United States of America. He and the rest of our elected officials are doing their damnedest to make that happen.

Now this is pretty freakin scary, the misses and I just don’t understand how half the people in our country can’t see what’s going on. If you look at the facts, and not the sound bites on tv, you cannot dispute this, wake up people, before it’s too late.

Ok, next, a follow up to yesterdays blog and then that’s it, I promise. Here’s the story about why and how the gov wants to take your money in your IRA and 401K and how they are going to justify it. If we had a bunch of money in one of these investment vehicles, we’d get it out now before it’s too late. Once the gov makes their move, it’ll be too late. Don’t think it’ll happen, well hopefully it won’t, but what if it does?

Going After Your 401k

going-after-your-401k

We know the government wants to go after them next; your 401k and your IRA. They want to tap into private pensions. It’s just another step towards the socialized society that they are moving towards.

A 2012 study by the Investment Company Institute illustrates that U.S. retirement assets total $18.5 trillion (two components of which are $3.5 trillion in IRAs and $5.1 trillion in 401(k) plans). This presents a very tempting target for the administration to help fund a spiraling budget deficit that is approaching $20 trillion.

Your retirement 401k and/or IRA plans may be slated for dramatic changes ranging from limiting deductions, to retroactive taxation and to possibly include a nationalization scheme by imposing government mandated plans on employers with savings allocated to Treasury bonds.

Today’s 401k and IRA plans allow you to contribute and save money tax free. You are taxed when you take it out, later, presumably at a lower tax rate since you will be retired earning less income then. It is a great way to help save and build a safety net for your retirement years.

The problem is… the current socialistic thinking is more like the following… “We are denying the federal government the tax revenue it deserves”. In other words, we all are serfs of the government and by deferring our tax until a later date, we are denying them the money they deserve today… as though it all belongs to them to begin with.

You see, you’re costing the government by saving more of your money.

Why don’t we just nationalize the 401k’s? or Stop contributions at $5k?

With the so called ‘fiscal cliff’ looming near, more stories are popping up in the news regarding the notion of some form of government intervention with your IRA’s and 401k’s. Beware. They are desperately seeking revenue. Desperate people (governments) do desperate things.

What can you do about it? Pay attention to what is happening. Search out details. Listen for it in the news, that is if you can even find it in the mainstream. Write, phone, or email your congressman of your opinion. You must NOT do nothing. Instead, do something. That is, if you care.

Find Your Representative

Find Your Senator

Ok, enough said, do with this information what you will. If it was me, I’d go with better safe than sorry. After all, how much money are you making in interest on your 401K these days anyhow?

Ok, now to the family which is all some of you want to read about. I just have to put the other stuff in first or some of you’d never read it, sorry.

Both boys made it to school early as we had a meeting with a couple of teachers. After that we made a quick trip to Subway for the oldest guys lunch and then were home. I had a meeting downtown and was home by about 11ish. I then loaded up the misses and we went to Parisi (a great italian restaurant) for lunch and to order the food for our party next Friday. The misses and I had a nice lunch, ordered up our catering, grabbed a pizza for the boys for when they were home from school, and then headed for home.

The boys had chess club so we had an extra hour to run to Costco. The misses picked up the boys at 4pm while I was at the gunsmith having some work done on a rifle. By the time I made it home, it was almost dark as the sun sets a little after 5 these days.

We then watched some tv and the misses and I went to bed around 8 while the boys watched until around 10. The misses rolled over in bed and woke me about 4 and I couldn’t get back to sleep so here I am at 5am. Of course everyone else is still fast asleep. When I’m through here, I’ll head to the gym.

Today we need to find Santa for a quick picture with the boys and then we’ve been invited to Chelsea’s house at 4pm. Chelsea is the daughter of our good husband and wife friends who are dermatologists. In fact, Chelsea too is a dermatologist. She said she’s invited her Mom and Dad over too so I guess it’s a mini party. The main purpose of going over was the misses is helping to design her nursery as she has a 1 year old and another baby on the way. So that’s where we’ll be headed at 4.

Good news for those of you in Sacramento, looks like the misses and I might drop in for a day. You see I need 1600 more miles to keep my status on United so I need to take a trip. Of course this is subject to flight times, and if maybe we can get Uncle T and Aunt B to watch the boys for 1 day. Otherwise I’ll just fly to Los Angeles, get off the plane and get right back on another and fly home. We’d bring the boys but that’s about $500 we just don’t have. The misses and I have unused tickets so we fly for free. We’ll keep you posted.

Well that’s it, please check out the above information on your own, you don’t have to take my word for it, google some facts on your own. The point is, most Americans don’t think for themselves anymore, they get all their news from the media and take what they hear as 100% true.

Have a great weekend and God Bless.

Last day of November

Well, Aunt Robi didn’t wine,

ROBI says:

I wish I won, I sure could use it! I didn’t even buy one. Nice pic Lori!

Oh well, lots of people who win say they wish they didn’t as there life totally changes and not for the good. You know the old saying, “money makes people funny”! I’ll bet I could have made a go of it though!

Yesterday the misses and I ran back downtown after taking separate trips across town on errands of our own. The stores actually have lots of pretty good sales going on but we’re not biting. Partially because we don’t have any money to spare but mostly because our philosophy on what we spend our money on has changed. We really don’t go in for the luxury’s any more but are now more practical. Sure everyone wants nice things but we’d rather continue to try to pay down debt and just buy necessities. There’s another old saying which has resurfaced these days, which is pretty spot on with the world in the shape it is in today, and that is to spend you money on “beans and bullets”. This has a larger meaning but is also literal. The point is to buy things that your family needs (or will need) now or in the future. The good thing about buying extra food is that you’ll always use it!

Ok, now to the kiddo’s. First off, they’re both getting so tall. Those of you that haven’t seen them for a bit would be amazed. Today we have a meeting at school at 7:45 so we’ll need to get moving early around here. The oldest is reading 700 page Harry Potter books non-stop. We have to make him turn his lights off every night as he’ll just stay up reading. The youngest is reading really well too but not at the point yet where he just wants to read for fun.

We need to find something fun to do this weekend as it’s the first weekend of December. We have the football game Sunday so tomorrow we’ll probably go see Santa somewhere.

Now for the latest from our elected representatives who are supposed to be looking out for us. Did you hear, some dems are proposing taking your IRA and 401 K’s and issuing you a bond and then paying you your retirement money out of those? Nice huh, the gov wants to now take YOUR hard earned money and then give you a piece of paper and then give it back to you (right) when you need it. Sounds a lot like Social Security. You do know that Social Security would not be in financial trouble at all if the gov didn’t raid it for almost 2 trillion dollars (that’s right, they just took, they say they borrowed it) and now they can’t pay it back. Does anyone really think that if they take the money in your IRA or 401K that you’ll get it back? If so, you’re living in a dream World. Oh well, those that voted for you know who, are going to get what you asked for. (sorry I just can’t help myself as it’s true)

So, have a great weekend, stay safe and go buy some beans and bullets! God Bless

Did Aunt Robi win?

Looks like the only winning Powerball tickets were sold in AZ and MO. Aunt Robi is the only one of us living in one of those states which is Arizona. Let’s hope she won!

Yesterday the misses and I had to run downtown to return some things and then we met up with our realtor friend Rollie and another friend and we all had lunch. After that it was a mad dash to get the kids on time and that pretty much ate up most of the day. As soon as we arrived home it was time for the boys to go to swimming so the misses took them while I ran to the grocery store and then made dinner and cleaned up the house.

Both boys do so much better after having some exercise. It’s tough in the winter as there’s not as many sports going on. Today I need to be at the distributors early and the misses has a doctor appointment at 10am. We should both be back around 11. Next up will be some more house cleaning and decorating. We haven’t even thought about Christmas or buying anything for anyone, even the kiddo’s. We’d better get on it as it’ll be here before we know it. Too much pressure. Next week we have a “must go to” party down at a friends house by the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and then the oldest guys Christmas program the next day, and then our party the day after that. By the time that’s all over, it’ll be December 10th. I guess we can start thinking about Christmas then. Meanwhile I have about 2 months worth of work to do in 2 weeks. I just love this time of year!

That’s about it, I won’t post any political or news items today as none of you ever comment. You must be sick of them or not enjoy them. At least the election’s over. Look at it this way, I could be going on about the fiscal cliff and all that crap but it wouldn’t matter or change anything if I did. So, that’s it, hope everyone is well, take care and God Bless.

p.s. the misses made it in Colorado Expressions, a local magazine, showing her and friends at the Women’s Foundation Luncheon, here ya go!, just click on this link,

Almost December

Hard to believe, the year is almost gone. I can’t even remember what happened yesterday as it went so fast. The government (dems and gop) are still fighting with the only ones losing being us, everything costs more these days, especially our health care (thanks Obamacare!) and Christmas will be here before you know it. I’m going to stay away from all the bad things economically that are on the horizon, but know they are there!

Instead, let’s look at the latest money grab from our leaders, check this out.

They Are Going To Make It Nearly Impossible To Pass On A Farm Or A Business To Your Children

November 20th, 2012

If you have a farm or a small business, would you like to pass it on to your children when you die?  Well, unless Congress does something, it is going to become much, much harder to do that starting next year.  Right now, there is a 5 million dollar estate tax exemption and anything above that is taxed at 35 percent.  But on January 1st, the exemption will go down to 1 million dollars and the tax rate will go up to 55 percent.  A lot of liberals are very excited about this, because they believe that the government will be soaking wealthy people like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.  But the truth is that a lot of farms, ranches and small businesses will be absolutely devastated by this change in the tax law.  There are many farmers and ranchers out there today that do not make much money but are sitting on tracts of land that are worth millions of dollars.  According to the American Farm Bureau, approximately 97 percent of all farms and ranches in the United States would be subject to the estate tax if the exemption was reduced to just a million dollars.  That means that the children of these farmers and ranchers would be faced with a very cruel choice when it is time to inherit these farms and ranches.  Either they come up with enough money to pay the government about half of what the farm or ranch is worth, or they sell the farm or ranch that may have been in their family for generations.  Needless to say, most farm and ranch families do not have that kind of cash lying around.  Most of them are just barely making it from year to year.  So this change in the tax law is going to greatly accelerate the death of the family farm in America.  This is also going to devastate many family-owned small businesses.  Many small businesses don’t make much money, but they have buildings or land or assets worth millions of dollars.  Children that may have wanted to continue the family legacy will be forced to sell because of the massive tax bill that they get from Uncle Sam.  This is an insidious cruelty, and it shows just how broken our system has become.

The desire to leave the wealth that you have worked so hard to accumulate all your life to your children is something that is common to virtually all human societies.  We want to know that future generations will be taken care of.

It is simply immoral for the federal government to swoop in and tax farms, ranches and small businesses that were intended to be passed down from parents to their children at a 55 percent tax rate.

Now this is just wrong. I’ll bet this would never been considered if the Rockefeller’s and other wealthy family’s hadn’t already passed on their wealth! Hard to believe we’ve turned into a society where the government has the right to take over half of what generations have worked for over centuries for their family’s. The lesson here is give your kids (at least on paper) some wealth now before December 31st!

Alright, today the misses is planning our Christmas party which is scheduled for December 7th. We’ve had a party, I think every year since we’ve been here, must be 10 years or more in a row. Everyone says we throw the best party’s so I guess in these trying times, it’s our duty. I remember one year we gave each guest a gift wrapped ornament. Times were a little better then. Our food is always good and of course the wine is a big hit. But more than that is the mix of people we always have. The only ones who know everyone are us. We’ll keep you posted. I think we do this every year just to show off the misses decorating.

Today is the $500 million dollar powerball. I guess we need to buy a ticket but no one in Colorado has ever won. Hard to imagine what to do with all that money. We’d give lots away and go buy a farm or build on the ranch with the rest. Horses, cows, pigs, chickens, vegetables and more would be everywhere. That’s our dream, to get out of the city and get back to the land. One way or another, we’ll get there someday.

Hope all’s well, take care and have a great day, God Bless.

A successful day

Ameritown was a huge success with the oldest looking sharp and doing a great job. Meanwhile the misses was helping in the medical center, how apropo.  I was up north of town for work and made it home finally about 2pm. After school the oldest went to his friends and mom and the youngest went to d.i. That’s about it, not much going on except busy busy busy.

It’s almost 7am and mom is getting ready to rush the oldest to school for soccer while the youngest went back to bed. I’d normally take him but I need to try to pick up a new running back for my fantasy football team and the computers unlock at 7am sharp.

It’s cold outside, about 25 degrees. It’s supposed to warm up to the 60’s and stay that way for the week. Mom’s ready to take the oldest to school in her pajama’s, my down coat and clogs. Only she can look cute dressed like that!

Well time to run as it’s almost 7am. Have a great day and be an individual, do something you always wanted to do but never did. God Bless

Ameritown

Today is Ameritown at school. The entire 5th grade participates and every student has a job. The oldest is, I believe, the head accountant for the town. He wanted to be the banker but his talent for math and numbers landed him the accountant job instead. Looks like they put the kids with the best math skills in that position rather than the banker position. The misses is one of 14 parent volunteers for the entire day. Then right after school she heads to one of the youngest kids houses to help with D.I. (Destination Imagination) until sometime after 4pm.

Meanwhile I’ll be working as it’s getting down to crunch time for me to get about 1 million dollars worth of orders before the end of the year.

The house looks great, especially the trimmings around the doors. My favorite is the multi colored lights in the big tree that are just kind of thrown all over the place.

The oldest went to Jen’s party yesterday afternoon and they brought him home around 5pm. They had a blast as Jen received an Ipad for her birthday that they played with a bunch. Some World, 10 year olds getting $500 Ipads.

Ok now that you’ve had a break, here’s an article for thought, it’s pretty interesting if you think about it.

People Controlled By A System Which Eliminates Thinking

November 25, 2012

people-controlled-by-the-system

While unknowingly controlled by the system, these people don’t even know what they don’t know. It is unfortunate, sad, and frightening, in that our future as a species is changing as a result of a system which is eliminating the need for sensible ‘thinking’, or to even ‘think’ at all.

Jeff Rense recently summed it up nicely when he said, These people are so manipulated and so controlled now, that they are no longer individual people. They are a mass. They are a hive. They are a flock. They are a group. They are controlled. They are homogenized.

They are so homogenized, they look alike, they talk alike, they act alike, they watch the same things, they eat the same junk food, they die the same deaths, they suffer the same toxicity… physically, mentally, emotionally.

They have the same emptiness inside. Look in their eyes…

A failed species. They’ve quit, these people. The whole entitlement culture is a virus which has taken charge of the majority. They want. They no longer want to work. They are given, and then almost immediately become addicted to receiving. They love it.

Have they failed? Or have they been captured, put in mental and spiritual internment camps… Even though they are still allegedly free, they are captives of the system, a media dominated system, an education dominated system (if you can call it that any more) that is so insidious, so clever, so thorough, that they are no longer people. They have been re-configured. We are being mutated as a species on the earth.

At one time, people had their own opinions, they had views on things, they were open to discuss with other people… Today you can’t do that. Today no one’s interested in talking about anything of any importance… because it has nothing to do with what is important in life today like basketball, football, and sports… so they look at you like you’ve got three heads when you start talking to them about anything that requires thinking.

It’s rather frightening. We know where it’s going… remember the film, “Time Machine”?

The world was filled with people who all looked alike, no one knew anything about anything, …the Time Traveller tests his device with a journey that takes him to the future, where he meets the Eloi, a society of small, elegant, childlike adults. They live in small communities within large and futuristic yet slowly deteriorating buildings, doing no work and having a frugivorous diet. His efforts to communicate with them are hampered by their lack of curiosity or discipline, and he speculates that they are a peaceful communist society, the result of humanity conquering nature with technology, and subsequently evolving to adapt to an environment in which strength and intellect are no longer advantageous to survival.

Is this the place of the future?

If you think about this, it’s pretty much spot on. We all are conditioned to think Cadillac’s, clothes from Polo and Rolex’s are signs of wealth that we should all want while Hyundai’s and clothes from Kmart are signs of not being very successful. We’ve been conditioned to think that owning things are what is most important in life. Like it or not, we are a very materialistic society. What’s more scary is how we have all been brainwashed by media in general. I often think back to when I was a kid and visiting my grandparents. It seems they had a different more active, and yes harder, but more rewarding life. Do you remember probably when you were younger, finishing a big job or task and how good you felt? When was the last time you felt that way? When did you really feel satisfied  like you completed a hard days work that made a difference to you and others? Now we just all get on the computer or phone, with little face to face contact, and do some job where we can’t see any real results. Everything these days is just an excel file or a number. I remember when my dad as a banker, made decisions on who to loan money to based on his relationship with that person. He took the time to know the person personally and made his decision based his knowledge and feelings on whether or not the customer was a good risk. Now all banking has been reduced to formulas. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you don’t fit into a certain criteria, forget about getting a loan. Just try to get a home or business loan today if you don’t have a specific credit score. It’s all out of whack, I wonder how my dad would do business today, I’ll bet he would still look at the individual rather than some set of numbers.

So today, go out and be an individual, do what you want to do, not what society or the media tells you you should do. It doesn’t have to be dramatic, just start thinking out of the box. You and the World will be better off for it, trust me.

God Bless and Go Bronco’s!
