Won’t be using that word much anymore, as from about 10am yesterday, my whole life was turned upside down. It’s hard to explain what’s going on, but in short, I’m blown away. With my new hearing aids, I’m hearing shit I haven’t heard in decades. At first my voice sounded like I was in an echo chamber and the doc said that’s because I haven’t heard my real voice in years. Every little sound out there, I now hear. Even my feet walking on the ground. At the appointment, she used a computer to adjust the sound levels and pitch to my prescription. And here I thought you just take any hearing aid and stick them in your ear, and off you go. Nope, not these days. For the first month Emily, the doctor, said she was only setting them at 80% of the level as if she did 100%, it’d be too much. I laughed and didn’t believe her, but now I do. I had two interviews on Zoom and by the time my calls started at 2, I didn’t even notice them. You can’t see them either as it’s just a tiny thin fiber optic tube that goes into your ear. You also hook them up to the app on your phone. They’re really amazing, so much that I can’t really explain it. Everyone says how softer or normal I talk now. Guess I used to scream at people, ha. I had to turn down my phone and music and radio too. More to come, but so far, these things are a game changer. Lori goes in next Wednesday.
Ty’s off today and going boarding with Vinney at Keystone. Jag and Ava are getting things together at the house as he flies to Chicago on Saturday. We’ll see him tomorrow. Warmer up here during the day but still in the single digits when you wake up.
6am now, Ty’s still sleeping and I think we’re headed to the gym. Have a great day and God Bless.
