Today Excel announced on tv they’re raising prices. This isn’t a surprise; the surprise will be when you get the bill. Just the first in a long line of price hikes coming your way. Expect inflation to stick around for probably 5 years at minimum and high prices will stay with it. People will not go back to work and worker shortages will continue. This is mainly due to larger forces at play. The largest generation in history, Baby Boomers, are retiring, the Millennials generation are not as large and a lot of them don’t want to work or don’t have the best work ethic and the Zoomers, we’ll they loved covid as they’re basically anti-social and would prefer to stay in their rooms and communicate via social media and play on their computer. You see, the past 30 or 40 years which we think were normal were actually not normal but a period of great prosperity where everything went great. This now is not the new normal, but the old normal. This is much more like previous times of the 20’s through the 40’s or even the 70’s and early 80’s. If you’re old enough, you remember the late 70’s and early 80’s when mortgages and car loans were 18-20%. We had gas lines to get gas depending on the last number of your license plate. Odd numbers were on one day and even on another.
A buddy texted me yesterday saying a retired 4 Star General was on tv saying go buy food and water now. This morning on the local news, it stressed food and energy costs like natural gas and electricity are going to go way up and for people to be prepared. Gas for your car too is going up. The artificially low prices from Biden releasing all our strategic reserves, are over. So, as I’ve been saying, get ready people. It won’t be good. The shortages coming will be like nothing you’ve seen. Ask yourself what do I use daily or need to buy every week? Then make a list and then go buy the most important things on the list first. Items that come to mind after food and water are your medicines, toiletries like soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. How about pet food if you have a dog or cat! I could go on but you get it. Try to have some cash at home too, not sure there is a number that is too much at this point. Ok, you get it, now get to work.
Lori is Vail today and Frisco tomorrow. I have a tasting in Colorado Springs from 1 to 4 tomorrow. That means I’ll hit the road by 9 and be home close to 7. It’s a bit over 3 hours each way.
Oh, Biden was in Puerto Rico yesterday and told the crowd he was basically raised in a Puerto Rican family! Hmm, never heard that one before! Guess that means he had a Puerto Rican maid or lawn workers, ha. How anyone can go into a voting booth and pull a lever for any democrat is beyond me. Yet some misguided people who are fooled by what they see on tv, will do just that. Amazing how people are so easily swayed.
Yesterday I drove down to take Ty grocery shopping and give him some cash to hold him over until his new debit card arrives. I closed out an account and pocketed $145 from an old car loan at a credit union before they sent it to the State as abandon property. Yesterday was the deadline for me to show up and claim my money. It went into my pocket and then out to Ty, ha.
Last, if you drive, don’t let your car’s gas tank get below halfway full, you can thank me later,
God Bless.
