I guess we’re lucky

Alright, let’s try to look at the positive instead of the negative. After speaking with a few of the old wise sages we know (you know who you are!) I guess things could be much worse. As far as my shingles go, I probably shouldn’t even mention them as from what I now understand, they could be much much worse. Plus with the shape the misses is in, shingles are nothing. (but they do freakin hurt!)

Last night I was just getting into a good sleep when Lacey the lab decided to bark at 3:30am. She woke both the oldest guy and me for some strange reason we couldn’t find. Before that the misses woke us as she thought she heard some strange noise downstairs, and so the saga of no sleep continues. Back to the dog. We think she’s just getting old but old or not, she’s not eating breakfast at 3:30 in the morning! Maybe she’s just on my time schedule as she did eat before going to bed and really didn’t need food, plus we let her out twice before bed, put water in her room and threw the ball for her before she retired for the evening.

So pain or not, life goes on. I had to box a bunch more wine yesterday and take it to Fed Ex but first we had another trip to our favorite “out of network” physical therapy (more $) to try to get the misses some more relief. Then a quick stop at the grocery store and we finally made it to drop the boxes. Then home.

I don’t remember a whole lot more about the evening, (not a good sign, ha ha) but think I was asleep by 9. Both boys went right to sleep and have been really good about getting in their own beds and going to sleep.

I wish I had more to tell you but I’m kind of in a fog, lot’s of crap going on in my head, including a new headache that started at 3:30 when the dog woke us. Must be sinuses. Oh well, bring it on, let’s get it all out of the way at the same time so we can get back to a normal life. We’re kind of at the point where it’s just now laughable. Today we’ll probably get some big unexpected bill or something, ha ha.

Don’t worry, we’re keeping a positive attitude. It’s easier for me than the misses as you all know I’m harder to rattle. I keep telling her in 6 months we won’t even remember this, hope I’m right. I can handle just about anything but when you have health issues, those need to come first. So, time to go, Mom’s making breakfast and both boys are playing with their Nooks on the couch and of course, Lacey the lab is of course, fast asleep, I think I’ll go wake her. Paybacks a bitch!

Time for breakfast, be right back. Mmmmm, french toast, bacon and strawberries, a good start to the day. I just spent 30 minutes in the cold garage (good for a headache) breaking down 120 empty wine boxes for our trash man who comes at 7am. He won’t be very happy with us today but I usually go out and help him and did tip him generously at Christmas. He doesn’t speak much english but always waves at me. (I don’t think many people tip their trash guy)

Did you see the massive solar flare hurling at earth at 4 million miles per hour. I can’t believe the mainstream news (The Today Show) lead off with this. As you know from previous posts, we monitor this daily via emails from the Australian Space Agency as it can affect anything electronic. In this case, airplanes changed routes so as not to fly over the north pole as it could interfere with their communication systems. Oh well, we’re ready as we’ll ever be for something like this.

I guess I’ll run. I need to stay busy to keep my mind off you know what. Hope everyone is well, take care and have a great day.
