Nice win

Busy day yesterday. Good day though, as we got a lot done in a short period of time. We were at the Porsche dealership in Denver by 8. When we showed up, they didn’t have us on the books for our appointment? Geoff, our service manager, pulled out a miracle though, and made it work.

15 minutes later we were off in a loaner and at the Chevy dealer to meet Ty a little before 9. After walking the lot, he decided he wanted to step it up and buy the ZR2 instead of the more basic truck,-. This is a great truck but was a little over $50K! You just don’t get much anymore for $40K in a new vehicle, unbelievable. Ty had $10K he saved to put down and I managed to get him a supplier number from GM in Detroit, that was worth another $3K. This means he’d be financing a little over $40K. We talked about the pros and cons and what kind of commitment it would require paying that off. Of course, emotionally he wanted it, but I made sure he understood what he was getting into as well. He’ll pay it off within a year as he makes good money but will have to cut out a lot of discretionary spending to do so. In the end, that’s what he wanted to do, so he now owns a super cool new truck! Thankfully our insurance actually went down. This is due to more safety features on the truck, like air bags and OnStar. Pics to come tomorrow. He’s on cloud nine though, and we’re happy for him. It does mean he’ll be in the valley for at least another year as part of the deal was, he needs to keep working at his job until the truck is paid off.

We finished the paperwork by 10:30 (which is fast for buying a vehicle) and headed to Phoebe’s to get Lori’s hair done, leaving Ty at the dealer as they were prepping the new truck for delivery to him. A few minutes after getting Lori to Phoebe’s, Geoff called and said the Porsche was ready! I was thrilled as I thought it would be much later in the day, so I took off and went to get it. By the time I got back, it only took another 30 minutes before she was done and then home we went. We stopped to see Ty and pick up the second set of keys to the new truck.

Great Bronco game last night. I was texting with Tom, as we usually do during the game. Warm outside right now even though we had a little rain. No snow although it is going to start freezing at night. Marty made it home around 5 or so and now will begin the healing process. We’re all glad he made it through his health scare.

6:15 now, we’ll head out to the gym soon. Glad I have Lori’s snow tires on and both cars serviced for winter. Ty’s Audi had all kinds of issues from a broken turbo to bald tires, to the skid plate hanging off the bottom of the car, some dents and dings and more. I asked Rick, my buddy who is the sales manager, if he was wholesaling it and he said yes. This means they don’t care what’s the matter with it which was good. No way that would have made it through the winter. Overall, we’re glad Ty is in a new ride.

Make it a great day, stay safe, be well and God Bless.
