Just started the smoker. Need it to get to 225 degrees before throwing on the pork shoulder. This is an eight-hour process to do it right, but that’s ok. Good things come to those that wait!
Tough game last night for CU. Tom and I were texting back and forth as we couldn’t stop their quarterback. We also didn’t use our last two timeouts at the end of the game. Big coaching mistake. I’m sure the internet is crushing our coach today.
Some friends want us to go to Octoberfest in Vail today, but not sure we can make it with the smoker going all day. We need to try to get to the gym too so I hope I can get the meat to 150 degrees by 9 or so. Marty and Mel are coming over later today, along with Davy and maybe Abbey. Her dad needs a stint for his heart, which he’s getting on Tuesday, so she might fly up to Michigan today.
Not sure when Ty works. It’s almost 6am now. It’s a nice Fall morning outside. Feels more like mid-September than late August, maybe even early October. Thought I heard a bear or something outside when I was getting the smoker ready. Couldn’t see anything with my flashlight but I heard him, or her. (don’t want to misgender the bear, ha)
