Here’s a comment from Grandma Dix,
Oh how I love to hear all the good news from the Fugate house!!! So the boys don’t want anyone to see their “tellâ€. What a hoot that is.
We often watch pro-poker; therefore, we know what they are talking about. We surely hope that you are felling well and ready to have some fun on your mini vacation. Wish we were there! YO MAMA!
It’s 7am and raining a bit this morning here in Steamboat. We have everything in our nice condo you could ask for except coffee so here’s the misses as I’m off to the little store….
Once we got to the condo it was an all out sprint for the boys to jump in one of the four pools. They swam and then went into hot tub #1…then hot tub # 2….back in the pool….down to our hot tub…a shower…a bath…a game of Clue…back to the pool where they decided to do summersaults into the water and a back summersault holding on the step rails.  I told the youngest not to do those because his head was close to the wall.  Of course while the Mister was watching them he told the oldest the same thing.  I took the kiddos the last time they swam before dinner and the oldest showed be his back summersault and hit his head.  No tears, but I could tell it really hurt.  Thank god he had a huge goose egg that we iced or we could have been in real trouble.  We did have to wake him during the night to make sure he recognized me and knew where we were.
The condo is on the ground floor and there are french door that open to the expansive patio. Â The boys enjoyed the hot tub before and after dinner. We were going to make s’mores, but mom (me) forgot to pack the skewers. Â Oh well, it will be fun to hunt for the perfect marsh mellow roasting stick today.
Dinner was fantastic! The boys were very well behaved until Mr. Billy started playing cork football with them. Â They were still well behaved…just having a lot of fun. Â Billy is a young Grandpa. He’ll be 60 in February. Â His children are all grown up 36, 34 and 30, so he has a few grandchildren that he is missing right now. Â Ours were happy to be substitutes during dinner last night. Â Billy challenged the oldest to a cork shot (flick the cork) into his shirt pocket or through the collar and told him if he made it he would give him $5 ….he also gave a challenge to the youngest. Â Can you believe they both made it. Â Billy stayed true to his word and gave them each the money. He told the oldest if he could make it again he would give him $20, but if he didn’t the oldest would have to give the $5 back. Â The temptation of $20 made our oldest’s eyes grow quite wide and then Mr. Billy said think about it before you answer. The oldest pondered for a second and concluded upon keeping the $5 he already had. Whew!!
We woke to crisp air and the sound of rain splattering on the patio. Â The rain is much needed and there is nothing like the fresh smell after the storm. Â The sky seems to be clearing and we are planning to take the kids to Steamboat Lake this afternoon. Â The lake has paddle boats and great hiking trails….of course 3 of us have only flip-flops to wear…C’est la vie! We’ll have fun no matter what we are wearing on our tootsies.
The Mister just returned with coffee, so I am off to enjoy.
God Bless
