Weed

Yesterday Ty had theater and Jag had lacrosse. We thought Ty wasn’t going to school but he went at 1. Good thing he did as the lead was sick with the flu so Ty had to fill in. Meanwhile I was in Denver for a few meetings, one of which that was with these guys in the weed business. Now say what you will but this is the financial opportunity of this generation. It’s like the internet all over. And it’s not just the weed that gets you high. In fact the part that doesn’t get you high is a much bigger play. CBD infused products are now being sold by chains such as CVS and Walgreens. This is where the money is today but the recreational aspect is big too, just not mainstream meaning 100% nationwide legal, yet. More to come here but these guys want my expertise in launching products at ground level with independents like I did with video, dvd, and now wine. We’ll see.

Lori’s back is still out so I’m taking her workout. Jag has a workshop on his college essay for most of the day off campus. Ty has theater until 8 again and then we have a lacrosse game at 5:30, for Jag. Time to run so that’s it. Have a great day, it’s going be like 50 or higher up here today, GB.

Zoom

Yesterday was a blur. It came and went in the blink of an eye. Ty did too much too soon and will stay home today. Jag skipped lacrosse practice and the team dinner to study for a math test. I was all over Denver and Lori has a bad headache and really sore back, a double whammy. She can’t stand or sit. She’d better get well or she’ll be going nowhere this weekend, meaning no trip to California. I’m sure she’ll be fine but what timing.

Today more of the same. Lots to do, too much to explain. I did trade in a bunch of old cameras we had accumulated for a new one which is kind of fun. They update cameras often and they also have come down in price for the most part. One of the upsides of our developing World. Wish we could keep up mentally with our technological advances. They say AI (artificial intelligence) will destroy life as we know it. If you think about it, technology has already destroyed life as we know it. Wouldn’t we all be happier without cell phones? I surely think so. Man I miss the 70’s.

Time to go, have a great day and GB.

April 1st

Here’s something messed up, my computer is trying to April Fools me. The clock on it says 6:58 when in fact it’s 5:58. Must be Microsoft playing a prank. Lori asked me yesterday not to play any jokes on her so no April Fools Day here.

Ty had theater from 12 noon until about 8:10 pm and will be at school every day this week until 8 pm getting ready for the big opening this Friday. Jag has lacrosse today and then after practice has the team dinner. Ty will miss games and practice this week due to the show.

Yesterday Jag made some sort of Japanese souffle or cheese cake but it didn’t have any cheese in it. He did a really good job and it turned out great. Lori’s back is out and she’s not moving very well. I’m off to Denver to get the windshield on the truck fixed as it has a good size crack in it from a rock on the highway. While there I have a few stops which should put me home around 4 or so. As I said both boys will be late today anyhow.

Time to go, have a great day and week, take care and God Bless.

Springtime in the Rockies

Here we go, April arrives tomorrow. Most people don’t know it but April is the second snowiest month behind March! Oh boy, hope that’s not true this year.

Ty is still on the mend, Jag spent the day with Emma and is going to her little brother’s soccer game in Denver today with her and her family, Lori might have a touch of Ty’s bug and I’m doing fine.

Lori and I got sucked in to a new series on tv so we binge watched a little yesterday. We did make it to the gym which apparently according to a new research study on aging is the single most important thing you can do to live longer. Resistance training or lifting weights does wonders for your longevity. This isn’t all that surprising and we do it because it makes us feel good. Glad it has added health benefits too. Good news is it’s never too late to start so get off your ass!

Ty is supposed to go to theater practice today from like 12 until 8 but we’re not sure if we’ll let him go. Emma is also in theater but with her concussion she shouldn’t go either. Ty might go but as I said earlier Emma won’t.

It’s 7:07 now and everyone is still sleeping. Yesterday we found out the Rolling Stones concert is postponed! Apparently during the pre-tour medical exams, they found something wrong with Mick Jagger. They say they will reschedule soon so we’re supposed to hang on to our tickets. What a bummer but hope he’s ok. That means our Memorial Day weekend is now open. Maybe we’ll go to Moab! God Bless.

Cancelled

We made it to lacrosse around 5 when the first game was in full swing. Soon after we arrived it really started to snow. It snowed so hard the second game was cancelled. This was welcome news as it was really coming down and was like a hard corn type snow. I think the game was cancelled as you couldn’t really see what was going on. Meanwhile Ty was home resting or should I say playing. He seems fine but the flu is the flu so he has to stay home.

Earlier in the day I went to see Dr. Greenburg who runs the cardiology department at Vail Health. I’ve known him for years and I don’t really have a primary care doctor so I check in with him every other year or so. I had my blood work done a few days ago and went in for a check up and EKG. Happy to report I’m super fit although I do have a little hereditary high cholesterol which I’ve always had. Good news is my good cholesterol is and always has been, super high. He said all my blood work is great and I asked him if it was possible to work out too hard as sometimes I get my heart rate so high it feels like my heart is going to jump out of my chest. He said go for it, do anything I want as I can handle anything. That’s good news. Apparently I’m one of the most, if not the most, fit 62 year old’s in the valley. Knock on wood.

Today Jagger is going to Emma’s as she has a concussion and won’t be skiing today. She had a race scheduled here in Vail but is now out probably for a few weeks. Two weeks from today we’ll be in Hawaii and I’ll be getting on a plane to Seattle. Can’t wait as like I said before, it’s been a long winter.

Time to go, one more coffee and then it’s time to get ready to go to the gym. Have a great day, April is right around the corner! God Bless.

The flu

Well Ty has the flu, the real flu, ugh. He called me at 11:30 saying he wasn’t feeling well and I was in Frisco so I picked him up around 12:30. Lori managed to get him in to the doctor at 2:15 so that’s when we went. After getting a long q-tip stuck up his nose, and then waiting 20 minutes, I heard the nurse say “Ty Fugate is positive for Influenza B”. As soon as I heard that I stepped back a few steps from him, ha. The doctor prescribed Tamiflu for Ty and also for the three of us. Ty takes two pills a day and the rest of the family takes one a day for 10 days. The doctor said if we get it, up our dose to 2 pills a day.

Jag said Ty is not allowed in his room as he does not want to get sick with us going to Hawaii. Lori had me wipe down the fridge handles and anything else he might have touched and he went to his room and fell asleep around 2 or 3 and is still sleeping now at 6 am. Poor guy.

Lori and I are going to school to see one of Ty’s teachers at 7:45 about a history project for Ty. Jag has a lacrosse game tonight (so does Ty but of course the doctor said he’s going nowhere until at least Monday) which will probably be on the cold side.

Time for us to get in the shower so we can get moving, have a great day and wash your hands as apparently the flu is still going around, ha, GB.

2 to 1

4 in a row! We seem to be getting things together as a team. Last night we played Palmer from Colorado Springs (glad they drove here!) and won 13 to 2 and 2 to 1. Today we’re off and tomorrow we play Summit, probably in the snow.

I made it to Denver for my meeting and was back up by 2. Lori let me know we have a cracked windshield in the truck that must have happened from a rock on the highway. What a drag as now I need to get that fixed.

Ty is going in early to take some test to try to get into AP World History next year. We’re not sure we want him taking that as it’s a pretty big workload but we’ll see.

Time to get moving so time to go. Have a good day, it’s almost April which is hard to believe but everyone up here is so over winter. it’s been a long one, God Bless.

Lacrosse

More games today at 4 and 5:30. At least the weather will be nice. I’m off to a 10 am meeting in Denver and then will head back up the hill. Lori has the day off and is headed to workout at 7. Jag needs to bring breakfast today so we need to leave around 7:15 which is in an hour.

I need to get moving so that’s it. Have a great day and GB.

More lacrosse

The game started around 5:30 and we were playing Littleton from Denver. We won 7 to 2 and Jag scored 2 more goals! He must have had 6 or more shots and his coach says he’s on fire. Right now whenever he gets the ball he just goes to the net to try to score. He played Attack the whole game and the coach said that he doesn’t need to worry about passing right now and that he should go ahead and continue to try to score. Ty too had a great game and made a bunch of great plays winning a few face offs. Both boys seem to be getting the hang of it.

This morning at 7:30 we have Parent Teacher conferences. Jag is at 7:30 and Ty at 7:50 and then they’re off for the day. Lori has clinic and I have a conference call at 11. It’s going to be warm up here in the 60’s. That means lots of melting snow.

We went for sushi after the game last night as there was a rock slide on I-70 that closed the highway for a few minutes.

So no Russian collusion by Trump or the administration. What are the Dems going to do now? They’re in full melt down mode, especially Hollywood elites. On top of that, one of their own, the lawyer for the stripper who tried to sue Trump but lost and now owes him legal fees, was arrested on extortion charges by two separate prosecutors on both coasts. This guy was on CNN and MSNBC over 200 times and now of course Dem politicians and news anchors are frantically deleting photos of them with him on their social media, ha ha ha. Sadly though the Dems will keep pushing even though they have nothing else and are obsessed with Trump as are many people in the Country who just can’t accept the fact that he won the election. I feel sad for those people that are so angry at Trump that they can’t objectively put the Country first. The Dems are now their own worst enemy and their constant pursuit of Trump will most likely get him elected again. How can so many adults be so stupid.

That’s it, GB

19 Years

Happy Anniversary! Today it is 19 years to the day that we were married. That’s almost a 1/3 of my life and almost 40% of Lori’s life. I can’t imagine my life without her. It seems like yesterday but also seems like a long time ago we were in Scottsdale with everyone on a sunny day celebrating. I remember it all so vividly. As far as weddings go, and not just because it was ours, but ours was the best wedding I’ve ever been to. So Happy Anniversary to my beautiful wife and best friend.

Last night Lori and I went to dinner with Emma’s parents. They’re really nice and love Jagger (of course) and we’re lucky she and them are such a good family. The food again was so so and you’d expect better from a restaurant in Vail. We hung out for a long time talking after dinner and finally made it home around 9.

Today we have a lacrosse game but first up, Ty’s knee is killing him so we’ll have to get him in this morning to see someone. It’s always something. We’re not sure what he did. We had a little blast of snow but it’s supposed to be 50 degrees today so it should all go away.

3 weeks from today I’ll be getting on my 3rd plane in 4 days for my flight back to Hawaii from Seattle. Lots going on as I said yesterday. I also have about 3 weeks to learn some German, ha. That’s it, time to go as it’s already 7 am. Have a great day and it’ll be Spring before we know it, God Bless.
