Again…….

We’re up early, again, Lori worked late, again and we have the refrigerator repairman coming today which is going to cost us some more money we didn’t plan on spending, again.

Both boys were sick yesterday and stayed home from work. and soccer. As I said, Lori was home after 9 as she and her doc had a deposition after work. I did make it to Wyoming by about 9:45 and then hung out with our friend Bruce for a little over an hour catching up. He’s a pretty amazing guy that started out much like Ty busing tables at 15. Now though we call him the 6 Billion Dollar Man, after the old tv show. They are over the top wealthy who own over 300 marriotts, Westins, and other hotels.  He officially moved from their penthouse (above Oprah) in Chicago and is now a full time Wyoming resident. He told me yesterday that even with all the security in their building in Chicago, two tenants have been attacked and mugged. he said it’s just not safe to be there at all anymore. He has accumulated over 50,000 acres on his ranch in Wyoming and just built a huge home down on the river. He and his wife are really down to earth good people and it was good to catch up with him.

I made it back home by about 3 after a stop at Middle Park Meats in Kremmling. That was always one of Mom’s favorite places to stop and we always would on our way back from the ranch. It’s one of those old time places that was common 40 or 50 years ago. It’s changed hands a few times since Mom was there but is still the same. I bought some bacon, apple pork chops, salami and a few other things. I think I pulled in and stopped there just cause Mom always would, ha.

I’m in Denver tomorrow and then working up here Friday. I think we might go take Mom and Dad’s ashes up to the ranch this weekend as we’re running out of time before it is sold. Dad always wanted to be up there and of course Mom has to go where dad goes. More on that to come. Hope everyone is well, school starts in a couple weeks and then it’s all downhill until Christmas. Hard to believe summer is almost gone. God Bless.

Headed to Wyoming

In about 45 minutes, if not sooner, I’m off to Wyoming. I need to go up there to handle some details on the ranch. This is a big deal and thankfully I managed to get in touch with the people I needed to so we can keep things moving. I hope to be there by 10 am and if lucky, home by 2.

Yesterday Ty worked and Jag had soccer. Jag is sick and congested with that deep cough so not sure if he’ll make it today or not. I just heard him cough downstairs and it didn’t sound good. Both boys received their first paychecks. Ty had like $200 taken out for taxes as they listed $500 in tips for him while Jag only had $100 removed and zero tips listed even though he too earned a bunch. We’ll have to talk to the lady who processes payroll. Anyhow both boys have about $800 they’re putting away and saving by giving to us to hold.

Ty and I drove to Glenwood to get my truck back in the morning. Good to have it back as I didn’t want to drive the little economy car anymore. Time to get moving, have a great day, GB.

Running late

Sorry I’m late today, Tom just let me know I had not posted yet. I knew this but am just too busy. Off to Glenwood now to get my truck back after 3 hours of calls. Off to Wyoming tomorrow so it’ll be up early then, have a great day, GB.

Fall is here, at least today

Lori just said it looks like Oregon out there today, and that she likes it! It’s misty and cloudy like in some rain forest. We thought we were sleeping in by Ty kept coming in all night saying he couldn’t sleep. This is not good as he works tonight until probably 11:30.

Yesterday we tried to go get a new fridge at Lowes but after selecting the cheapest model they had, we were told they couldn’t deliver until September 3rd! That obviously isn’t going to work. We’ll see what we can work out tomorrow or try Home Depot this afternoon after I get back from Denver with the boys from getting soccer shoes. We’re leaving as soon as I can get ready which will be in about 30 minutes.

Trying to avoid politics but the liberal media is out of control. I won’t dwell on this but check out the new Editorial member of the New York Times, here’s what she said,

The New York Times turned a blind eye to anti-white racism when it named tech writer Sarah Jeong, who was born in South Korea, to its editorial board. Controversy followed immediately when the Asian-American writer’s tweets surfaced. Like a good liberal, she had blasted out numerous tweets attacking “white people.” Many of them had curse words in them directed at whites.

Jeong called to “#CancelWhitePeople,” (meaning kill them all) and then said they are “only fit to live underground like groveling goblins” and referred to them as “Dumbass fucking white people.”

In one tweet she commented: “White people have stopped breeding. you’ll all go extinct soon. that was my plan all along.”

Wow, and I could go on like when a CNN reporter said the only way you get a person with a whole set of teeth at a Trump rally was if you put them all together and called them all “garbage people”, Wow. Then you have ANTIFA in Oregon attacking a prayer group with sticks, bottles and clubs while the liberal mayor told the police to stand down, nice.

Not sure where this will all end but it’s pretty ironic how it’s liberals who are so violent and angry. I sure don’t remember this when Obama was Pres, hmmm.

I guess we’ve had some people look at Mom’s house but no offers as of yet. It’ll sell, but could take some time. Mojo and Harley are fine and play all day long around here. It was pretty wild last night with them running from one end of the house to the other. You just had to laugh. Time to run so I can get going. Maybe we’ll leave Ty here to try to sleep and Jag and I will just go. Have a great day, God Bless.

Darn refrigerator

Yesterday afternoon I went to get some ice out of the fridge and all of a sudden the ice maker just kept on churning. It wouldn’t stop or shut off! So my only choice was to remove the ice bin which was full of ice and then take out the actual spinning thing that rotates and dispenses the ice. This solved the problem of ice coming out but the gear that turns the ice maker kept on turning. When Lori got home she looked online and we pulled out the fridge, unplugged it and then disconnected the internal power source. You couldn’t imagine the stuff under and behind the fridge as it has never been pulled out in 11 years! We thought we had it fixed at least until Monday and headed out to the movies. We saw the Spy Who Dumped Me which was really funny, go see it!

When we got home we hung out waiting for Ty to get off work. After a while I went to the fridge to get something and when I opened the door, I realized it was warm inside! Now we weren’t sure just what to do so we pulled out the fridge and plugged the internal power source, (which we thought was just for the ice maker) back in. That turned the motor back on but also turned on the spinning gear that spits out ice. So that now runs every 5 minutes or so until something inside shuts it down for 5 minutes, then it starts up again! Hopefully they can fix this Monday as we just don’t have the spare cash to buy a new fridge. That was our afternoon.

Earlier in the day I ran down to the distributor and the dry cleaner and was back by noon. I guess a few people have looked at the house with one coming back this morning. Lori’s friends friend is the guy coming back at 9:30 am as she’s been texting back and forth with Lori sending messages. I guess there’s another property with a pond on Youngfield but it’s $1.8 Million. Keep your fingers crossed! Our realtor checks peoples credit before taking them in the house which our friend said pissed off the guy looking at the house, oh well, guess he’s making sure he’s not wasting his time, but I sort of get why the potential buyer is pissed.

We were going school shopping in Denver today as both boys need soccer shoes but it’s now 8 as we slept in. Hard to believe there’s no soccer shoes up here but we can’t find any. I think we’ll go to the gym and then see what we’re doing. The sky is finally blue with no smoke as we had some rain. Hopefully it help with all the fires here. That’s it, have a great day, be safe and God Bless.

A Fall Day

Just as I was talking about it, today it seems as though Fall is here! There’s a nice cool light rain outside right now with the temperatures in the 50’s. It sure feels good. Hope it helps the fires.

Both boys had their physicals yesterday for sports. Then I took Jag to work along with Ty (he wasn’t working) so they could review their schedules together. My buddy Steve, who owns the restaurant, was raving about the boys again. At one point he said “who dresses them?”, meaning who buys their clothes. I said for the most part, I do. He said Jagger looks like a million bucks, saying “the kid is wearing an Eton shirt!”. (these are really nice dress shirts that aren’t cheap yet we bought Jag a few at 70% off when my store had a sale) Anyhow he said they can just put on the board when they want to work and when they want off. He’s thrilled with both of them.

Tonight Lori and I are off to the movies. I think Jag and Nicole are going to one in the afternoon. First up I’m off to Denver to pick up some samples and then get Ty back up here by 3 for work. Lori of course has work too. Jag is off today and tomorrow and Ty’s off tomorrow too. I think we’re going back to school shopping.

That’s it, August 3rd, hard to believe. Hpe all’s well, take care and God Bless.

August 2nd

Here we go, Fall is a coming. Won’t be long now until the weather changes. Football starts tonight and soon it’ll be September. Jag worked until 10, Ty spent the night at Sonny’s and I have a dentist appointment this morning at 8:30. Harley and I went to training yesterday in Denver where she did well. Lori took a nice 2 hour hike and then relaxed at home.

The pictures keep coming in from the party last weekend. I had no idea we’d get so many comments on them. I’m not a big Facebook guy but used on of the pics as our new profile picture and we now have around 50 comments on the photo from Jonny V to Harry to guys in Italy, too funny. It’s ten minutes to 7 so time to get moving. One more picture although I’m sure you’re sick of seeing us. We do look pretty good for our age though, ha. Hope everyone is well, GB.

Elk Hunting

Exactly a month from today I’ll be high in the mountains, before sunrise, elk hunting. Fall is almost here! It’s cooler at night and you can tell things will soon be changing. Today though Harley and I are off to her dog training in Denver in about 40 minutes. Ty worked late again, ugh, and was off at 11:30. This work thing is the hardest on Lori and I as we have to pick them up every night. He’s off until Saturday but of course Jag works on Ty’s days off. Ty worked 80 hours in 2 weeks! That’s a lot.

Robi commented yesterday about the Aspen Blow Party. We hope you’re serious as it’s a blast and so is Aspen. I know she and Robert would love it!

robi says:

Great pics, great hat Doug! Sign us up for next year we will come, we got the clothes – hehe!

We were going to the gym this morning but overslept. Lori is going on a hike with Francesca at 8:15 though so she’ll get some exercise. She has the day off. Jag had Nicole over yesterday after they went to lunch. He’s much more pleasant when he’s around her, ha. That’s about it, here’s one more pic high up at 12,000 feet from Aspen, God Bless.

Dropped my phone

Today I’m running down to Big D to get a new phone. As it says, I dropped mine at the front door yesterday and sure enough, it cracked the screen. Ty was done at 11 last night and Lori and I went over to James and Francesca’s to hang out for an hour waiting for him to finish. They bought some huge condo/home, right on the mall next to where the boys work.

Jag cleaned the house yesterday! That’s right, he cleaned! Before you think he’s now cleaning around here on a regular basis, Nicole is coming over today after they go to lunch. So that’s why, ha.

Ty works at 5 and will have about 80 hours in this pay period and made another $104 in tips last night, good for him. It’s 6:52 now as we slept in so time to go. Have a great day, GB.

Down and up

I took off yesterday morning around 7:30 to get Ty and after a quick stop at Mom’s (to get some more crap out of the garage) we were home around 11:45. Ty was tired as of course they stayed up until 4 am! He and Jag both worked last night but Jag was off at 9:40 and Ty worked until 11:45! He did make $147 in tips plus $90 in hourly wages so he earned $237 last night which works out to just about $30 an hour. He sure was tired though and went straight to sleep. He works today and tomorrow while Jag has both days off. Of course the only one that doesn’t have a single day off is me as I have to pick one of them up every night.

It’s cool up here this morning which is nice. Tom met the movers at Mom’s last Thursday so when I opened the garage a lot was gone. Shelly is taking a bunch of stuff which is great, for when she moves. It’s good that someone will use it.

The party the other day was actually the 40th Annual party. I think we’re going to become hosts next year. This means we get to invite like 5 couples I think so if anyone wants to go, let us know. We woke up this morning with a call from the hospital as Lori had to deal with some issue. Time to run, have a great day, GB.
