Tax Day

Time to send tens of thousands of dollars to the government today. What a waste. You know how I feel about the taxes that those of us who work for a living pay. We pay more and more each year to cover expenses for those who don’t work, and then when we do pay, we get less for our money. No way around it though, until we can vote the freeloaders (career politicians) in D.C. out.

We had a fun dinner with Lori’s team after the Broncos had a win stolen from them with a fantom call with no time left on the clock. Hard to believe that in 2025, referees can still get it wrong.

Ty golfed at Red Sky Ranch with some clients from work. They love him and took him golfing at the best course in the valley. He had a couple birdies, a bunch of pars and yes, some bogeys. He had fun. He works today.

Lori works today in Vail. Starting in November, she stops going to Frisco as they’re not going to use that office anymore. Then it’ll just be Vail all the time.

Looks like I’m going to stay with a new suburban. I’ve looked at every car out there from Range Rovers to Mercedes to the new Lexus and they all have issues while the burb seems to be the most solid. The Mercedes is the only one still in the running, but I’m basically a “buy American” guy.

That’s it, time to go. Have a great day, think of Tom and us paying for all the losers out there who don’t want to work! Ha. God Bless.

Great Show

Yesterday after Costco and doing stuff around the house, we took off around 4:30 to go to the concert. We went to Gerry and Marci’s and then all headed to Elways for dinner. We made it to the amphitheater around 8pm, 30 minutes before the opening act was over. Good call to skip them.

The Black Crowes came on around 9 and it was non-stop dancing and fun for the next 90 minutes. We, and the entire crowd, didn’t sit down once! We were in the 5th row which was prefect as we were eye level with the band. We left a couple songs before it was over to beat the crowds and walk back to the Village. It was really loud, and the bass was turned up so much, your whole body shook with every note. That was the only downside, the sound could have been better. Still, an epic show as they’re such a good band and have tons of great hits over the past 35 years. Their first album came out in 1989.

Marci was so buzzed from eating gummies! She’s my age and I thought she was going to pass out or for sure and I’d be carrying her back! We found one of those rickshaw bikes and I told Gerry and Marci to take it. Gerry has a bad foot and is 78 years old. Lori and I walked back to Elways where our cars were parked. Marci was so funny all night!

We were asleep by midnight and today have Lori’s team (5 of them) over for dinner at 6, right after the Bronco game. Looks like some snow up high tonight. Only above 10,000 or 11,000 feet though, so no worry.

That’s it, time to go. I’m meeting Tom who left Carbondale on his way back to DIA, in about 30 minutes, down by the highway to get some samples. Tom is my guy from California who worked a wine festival in Snowmass the past few days.

Have a great day, take care and God Bless.

Home

It was easier travelling to and from Europe than to and from Seattle. I couldn’t believe how packed the airports in both Denver and Seattle were. After all, it’s the middle of September, not summer. Then, it took me 4 and 1/2 hours to get home. After landing at 12:30, I was home at 5:15.

Good trip, my deal is 90% done but until it’s done, it’s not done. Tonight, we’re going to the Black Crowes concert at the amphitheater in Vail. Should be a great show, but it is outside. We could get some rain and I think it even snowed on top of the pass.

Ty’s off to work and we’re getting ready to go to the gym. We’ll be around the house all day, with a trip to Costco thrown in. Davy might come over to hang out before he takes his 5- and 10-year-old camping tonight. Abbey is in Michigan as her dad had a couple stints put in earlier in the week.

Lots of division in the Country over Charlie Kirks murder. They now have a 22-year-old kid in custody who allegedly did it. He was a gamer who was radicalized online. The guy in Butler PA who shot Trump was 20 years old, the shooter in Minnesota a few weeks ago was 23 and this kid is 22! All were easily influenced online, and I’m sure convinced that what they were doing was a good thing. Just look at the Democrats words daily and it’s easy to see how a young kid would think they’re doing the right thing. Again, 20 to 23 years old! Unbelievable. Now reality sets in and Utah has the death penalty, and I’m sure this “kid” is second guessing his actions. Maybe I’m wrong and he’s been so brainwashed that he thinks he still was in the right. After all, you have grown adults of all ages defending and even celebrating the murder. I have a hard time with this as I think most people do, as no matter what anyone believes, I would never celebrate anyone’s murder. Anyone celebrating murder has serious mental problems and should be avoided. all you can do is pray for them.

That’s it, time to go, have a great day, stay safe and God Bless.

Headed home

Great day in Seattle. My new partners are really smart, successful, and want nothing more than to make the Company bigger and better and to manage it and run it for years after I retire. Besides a perpetual money stream for me, there are other benefits (mainly tax benefits) as well. It’s like a new dawn with new energy infused into the Company. Not patting myself on my back, but I did the whole deal from start to finish.

Hope to land in Denver by noon, grab some lunch with Jag and maybe look at a new car, time permitting. Everyone is still reeling from the Charlie Kirk murder yesterday. Ty is taking it particularly hard, disillusioned at the Country and liberals in particular. Can’t really blame him. Everyone I know across the Country is fed up with the left and their crap. Hope it ends peacefully, and things can go back to the way they were 40 years or so ago. Sadly, I’m not sure we can ever go back. Man, we didn’t know how good we had it in the 70’s.

That’s about it. Hope everyone is well. Take care, please be careful as everyone is amped up right now, and God Bless.

Seattle

Off to the once great city of Seattle today. Notice I said “once great”, as it’s a mess these days. I’ll land around 1:15 and be on the ground for 19 hours. Should land in Denver by noon tomorrow.

Lori had a late day at work arriving home around 7:30 last night. She’s still sleeping now at 5:21am.

Tragic assassination yesterday of a 31 year old kid whose only crime (sarcasm) was debating liberals on college campuses. This is pure evil. A few days earlier a black man knifed to death a 23 year old woman on a bus in Charlotte and proudly proclaimed after doing so, “I got me a white woman”! Then you’ll remember the trans shooter that shot up a catholic preschool in Minnesota a few weeks ago. Enough is enough. The news didn’t want anyone showing the knifing in Charlotte as it didn’t fit their narrative. Imagine if a white guy slashed up a black girl! There would be riots in the streets.

Charlie Kirks death yesterday will be a turning point, which ironically is the name of the company he founded when he was 18 years old. I had so many people calling and texting me or telling me in person, they’re done with this. There is a war going on in America and until now only one side has been fighting, which is the side of evil. It’s time for the good people to stand up, speak up and stop putting up with the unhinged attacks, whether verbal or physical, from the far left lunatics. They’ve normalized calling for the death of those they don’t agree with, including the President of the United States. Charlie Kirks blood is on their hands, along with all the other politically motivated senseless killing. The funny thing is the far left is weak and spineless as the only thing they know how to do is play the victim. They do this so they don’t have to take responsibility for anything. When confronted verbally, they yell or scream or even kill those they don’t agree with, like yesterday, as they have no defense against the truth. When confronted physically, the cower and play the victim. Well, the good people of this World have had enough. Things will get worse before they get better. It’s good versus evil, time to pick which side you’re on. Make no mistake, we are at war, and mark my words, the silent majority will rise up and crush the devil. Seems like we’re at that point now. The left has no idea how many people actually don’t agree with their twisted, godless ideas.

Oh, and you can throw in a shooting at a high school outside of Denver yesterday, by a juvenile, who did pass away by a cowardly self-inflected gun shot. Good riddance.

Let’s not forget, today is the anniversary of one of history’s most cowardly attacks, the attack on 9/11. All attacks are just that, cowardly, and committed by cowards. No other way to describe it. Be careful as anyone of these attacks can happen anywhere, anytime. In Seattle today, I’ll go straight to the office and then straight back to my hotel where I’ll stay unit 6:30 tomorrow morning when I go to the airport. Seattle is a shit hole and super dangerous as it is run by left wing lunatics who release criminals with no jail time and enable the crime which consumes their once great city. And then they blame the Republicans, ha.

What a mess. We don’t go anywhere unarmed anymore. I hate flying to Seattle as I am not able to be armed which makes me nervous. Hence, I stay as far away from everything as possible, and will get the hell out of there as quick as I can.

RIP Charlie Kirk, the poor Ukranian immigrant in Charlotte, and any other victim of the far left. No more looking the other way or not speaking up as clearly that doesn’t work. Watch your top knot, as I said, the Country is at war! Take comfort in knowing most of us are on the side of God! May he watch over, protect and bless you!

Plugging along

Another day, more work and more progress. Lori is in Vail today and Ty works too. I’m off to Seattle tomorrow on an 11:30am flight and will fly home at 8:45am Friday morning. That means a big 19 hours or so on the ground.

I’m headed to the gym this morning before my calls start. We have a lot going on at work as everyone is doing the work of two people these days. All good though as we’re making lots of progress, which is exactly the plan.

Fall will be here soon. Lots of bears out right now as they’re stocking up for winter. I might get the new Lexus LX700 Overtrail once interest rates fall. Range Rovers and Mercedes are sexier, but the Lexus is by far the better vehicle. Tough part is finding one. We’ll see though as I have until the end of the year to get the tax benefit.

Ty got his haircut yesterday. He likes it long on top and slicked back and short on the sides and very back. That’s his new style these days. He always looks good as he has those model type features.

In other news, 12th graders scores dropped to the lowest in over 20 years! Way to go Governor Polis! He’s such a credit to the State, (more sarcasm). Can’t wait to get out of here. We’ve narrowed our search down to around Hayden Lake Idaho. Ernest Hemmingway lived there for a while and Lori knows it well and loves it. It’s right between Sandpoint and Couer D’Alene. Ben and Eleni are buying a house up there too.

Time to get moving, have a great day, be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Early dump run

I was at the dump by 8, washed the truck by 8:30, had breakfast and was on the way home by 9. Lots of other work during the day. Joey, our appliance guy, did show up around 11 and fixed the dryer and then we went up to Davy’s to fix some of his stuff.

I have a call at 9 this morning so we’ll need to get to the gym before that. Lori works from home today. She had a bad headache yesterday. Our accountant called and thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill signed earlier this year, you now get a 100% deduction (up from 60%), on vehicles you buy for your business. Since we have an S Corp, we can take advantage of this. This means if we buy a new vehicle, and it weighs over 6000 GVW, we can deduct 100% of the cost right off of our income. At a 35% tax rate, this saves $35K out of pocket or $3000 a month! With that, you can buy a really nice car and still be ahead about $1500 a month! We’ll see, tough decision as I love my truck.

Nice and cool outside right now. Not cold, just cool. Looks like a little rain between now and then end of the week, but nice on the weekend.

7am now so time to get moving. Have a great day, GB.

Here we go again

Good Bronco game, not great as we didn’t play as well as we should have, but good in the sense that we won! Ty had a blast along with 76,000 other people at the stadium. He made it home around 8 to Madi’s last night. She had fun too.

This week on Thursday morning I fly out to Seattle. I’ll be there for a total of 22 hours flying home Friday around noon. Saturday, we have the Black Crowes concert at Ford Amphitheater, think we’re somewhere in the first five rows. Then on Sunday Lori is having her team over for dinner here at the house. Busy week.

This morning my calls start at 10. I think Lori and I will take Harley on the 2-mile loop around the neighborhood in a few minutes. Ava is in Colorado Springs this morning for some off-site test or work session. She’ll be home this afternoon.

I’d like to make a run to the dump today. We’ll see as Lori wants to see everything I throw out before I throw it out. Might just load up a bunch of stuff and go. No one will miss it.

Annettee texted last night that there was no blog yesterday. For some reason, it didn’t post. The morning was a mess as my email was hacked and we needed to get it figured out to get Ty the Broncos tickets. A great guy named Glen called from the Broncos and fixed everything so all good. Not sure where the post went. Good job Annette!

Fall is on the way, should be here soon. I’m sure it’ll be here by the time we’re back from Italy. That’s about it, have a great day, God Bless.

Deep clean

Today Ty is doing a deep clean on his room. He doesn’t know it yet, as he’s still sleeping. But once awake, I’ll fill him in. There are certain responsibilities to living here for free and the biggest one is to keep his room clean. Lucky for him, he has the next four days off!

We were at Costco yesterday and yes; they have Christmas stuff out! Soon Spring clothes will be in the stores, ha. We only have 116 days left in the year! It’s trash day and we just threw out a bunch more stuff that needed to go. We’ll head to the gym this morning and then do some more cleaning once we get home.

CU football is on today, so we’ll weave that into the mix. Great football game last night as the Chiefs lost! Hope the Broncos win tomorrow and then we’ll be tied with the Chargers and a game up on the Chiefs. That’d be a good start to the season.

Clear and cooler today. It’s about 40 degrees outside right now. Should be a nice, pleasant day around 70 degrees.

7am now so time to get moving. Have a great day, God Bless.

Cooling down

Lots happening as usual. I did squeeze in time to hang with the guys from 4 until 5:30 for cigars. I’m sort of over smoking cigars these days, as I’ve said, but still good to see everyone.

Ty works this morning and my calls start at 8:30. I have a conference call with Italy at 10 and then should be done by 11 with my scheduled calls. I’m sure I’ll have a bunch more throughout the day.

I caught a chipmunk in one of my traps yesterday but released him unharmed (lucky guy), as I’m only after mice. I think I have most of the mice and we don’t want to get the chipmunks so I might stop using the traps outside. They all like peanut butter!

Football started last night, more tonight and then the Bronco’s on Sunday. Lori and I might go with Ty and Madi. We’ll see what the weather is like. If we stay home, Jagger and his buddy will go as Ava has a test for work.

I didn’t get to clean my office yesterday, hopefully I can today. Lori made lasagna which was good. 6:30am now so time to get moving. More shootings, stabbings, robberies and crime in Denver, nice. It used to be such a great city when we were growing up. Hard to understand why people vote democrat. If you want to be safe, move to a red State. Thankfully it seems America is waking up, everyone except the Democrats of course. Like I said yesterday, sometimes you just can’t fix stupid.

Have a great day, God Bless.
