Snowing and blowing

Not much snow here yet but last night, and a little still right now, the wind was blowing and it was snowing. We only have an inch or two but it looks icy and miserable outside. Lori is suppose to go to Frisco today and Ty has school in Edwards. The news just said 47 inches in Boulder by Sunday! This reminds me of the storm of 2003 when we had about 3 or 4 feet in Lakewood. We’ll see. We told Jag to stock up now on groceries. Maybe he should come up for the weekend if he can get away. I’ll suggest it this morning.

I made it to Denver and back by about 1 yesterday. I picked Ty up from the mountain on the way home. He had a great day of boarding in the terrain park which is on the front side where they have all kinds of rails and jumps for tricks and stuff. Should be a good weekend on the mountain and not too crowded if the front range gets the snow they’re suppose to as no one will be able to get up here.

Guess I should get going. Hang in there, things are getting better every day. Let’s keep it going! God Bless.

one more drive

Today the burb gets a check up and I’m getting a haircut. On the way home from Denver I stopped for my annual check up with Dr. Greenberg, our cardiologist. Good news is I’m all good for another year. Amazingly my cholesterol is way down. That’s a first.

Ty is skiing or boarding today and Lori is working in Vail. She’ll drop him and I’ll pick him up on my way home. Our firepit is in and working and looks like a hotel. Our deer are standing outside looking at Lori waiting for her to throw some bread out or something. I see four but I’m sure there are more. She’s trained them to show up for breakfast every morning. They love bird seed but she gives them bread too.

Time to get moving. Snow’s coming in a few days. I think more in Denver than up here, nice. Make it a great day, God Bless.

Fun sun

What a day, sunny and warm. Two more on the way before a change. Last night Marty and Melanie came over for dinner. They called and said let’s go out but we thought it’d be easier and cheaper to just have dinner here. Good call. We decided to make it a Sunday tradition. We used to do Fridays until they moved to Frisco but now they have to bring Max to church group on Sunday’s. Fun time.

I’m off to Denver to have the windshield fixed in about 45 minutes so no time to waste. Lori will have to take Ty to school. Time to get moving. Have a good week and GB.

Sunny and warm

Ty had a good day on the mountain and is headed back up today. Meanwhile Lori and I went to Frisco and picked up a lawn chair we ordered last summer. That’s how long things take to get here with the crap going on. It’s so nice outside you’d think it’s Spring but not so fast as snow will be back next week.

In 24 hours I’ll be headed to Denver to have the windshield on the Mercedes fixed. You might recall I went down last week but they had the wrong one. Tuesday I’m having the suburban worked on and getting a haircut. Then I’m home for the week.

We’ll head to the gym again after we drop Ty. He has Zoe at 4:30 so he needs to be done skiing by 2. Jag is well, so is everyone else. That’s it, stay healthy and God Bless.

Back on the mountain

Ty and some buddies are headed to the mountain this morning. It’ll only be his second day boarding this year. He’s finally all healed up and excited to go. After we drop him Lori and I will head to the gym.

Yesterday morning we drove to the Eagle County Fairgrounds at 9 am for the drive up clinic for the J&J vaccine. They had it figured out pretty well as you’d drive into a lane in one side of the large building and while staying in your car, you’d fill out some paperwork and then pull up another 10 feet where a RN would give you the shot. Then you’d pull out the other side and stay in a lane with a bunch of other cars until 15 minutes was up and then they’d let you go. When you pulled in they put a Post It on your windshield with a time that was 15 minutes after your shot. The shot itself you could feel and it seemed like it took forever for it to get in. Must have been a pretty good dose of whatever. Lori said “ok, you’ve now been microchipped” , ha.

No side effects for me so far, knock on wood. I’m not really even sore in my arm where I had the shot. I can see a little red dot where they stuck the needle in but that’s it. Hopefully I’m past the point of side effects.

Jag called yesterday and needed some more cigarettes to hand out to any frat brother that asks him for one. It’s not good if he doesn’t have any. I told him to call Tommy as he can’t buy them in Boulder being under 21.

It was warm yesterday and more warm weather is coming. Looks like we’ll be in the 60’s until the middle of next week. That’s good news! Time to get everyone moving. I fed the dogs and now it’s time for coffee. Be well and God Bless.

Closed? Open?

I was off to Denver only to make it almost to Vail when I learned the Pass was closed. So I turned around and headed home. I made breakfast and around 8:45 learned the Pass was now open. So off again I went. I made it down around 11am and was on the way back up by 12:30.

Lori cleaned the house from top to bottom. Ty had school and by the time I was home I had a homeowners zoom meeting to jump on from 3 until 5. Eagle is booming and the town is updating rules and regulations. Lots of growth everywhere in Colorado. We should have put a wall up around the State to keep everyone out!

This morning I’m going to the drive up vaccine clinic at the fairgrounds at 9:10 am. I’m getting the Johnson and Johnson shot and am not really excited about it. In fact, I’d prefer not to get one at all but to travel to Europe I need to get one of them. It looks like the J&J shot is the lesser of the 3 for side effects. It is what it is, right.

It’s a little icy up here as we had some mist last night. No new snow and less than an inch on the ground here as you can see the grass sticking up through the light covering of white.

That’s about it. Hope you all are well and safe. Warm weather coming for the next five days, whoo hoo. We’re ready for Spring, bring it on! God Bless.

Rush

Jag called yesterday and he needs a few things to rush for his fraternity. Apparently he always has to have cigarettes on him in case one of his frat brothers asks for one. He also needs a cheap suit for something and a few other things he told me. Luckily he said he didn’t get one of the shitty jobs they handed out. I guess there’s one kid who has to get up at 5am every morning and send everyone a weather report. He told me about another one or two but I forget what they are.

I’m off to Denver to have the suburban serviced at 9am. I should be leaving there by 11 hopefully missing the little snow storm coming in and home by 1. I’m running down to see my buddy Art while they change the oil.

Ty is home today as I said yesterday. Lori too. Time to get moving so I can get out of here by 7am. Oh, cousin Lee and the entire family got covid and have been locked up in their house for like two weeks! I guess Walker, their youngest, brought it here from the U.K. where he goes to school and gave it to the whole family. Lee said it wasn’t that bad but he did have that guttural cough on the phone. He said he also lost his taste and smell but it’s 80% back. I was talking to an ER doctor friend of mine in Aspen and she was telling me of all the delayed side effects from covid that include just about any and everything you can think of. That includes Lori’s itchy rash (from her vaccine) and my vertigo I had last month. Kim thinks I for sure had covid sometime last year, hmm.

So there you have it, make it a great day and God Bless.

Warm

Yesterday afternoon it was warm up here but really warm in Denver. I was home a little after noon. Later in the day I received notification I can go get the shot on Friday. I can go to a drive up at the fairgrounds about 5 minutes from the house and get the Johnson and Johnson shot if I want it. I’m on the fence though as I’m not sure it’s necessary. Anyhow I have two days to decide.

We had a bunch of deer outside yesterday morning looking for breakfast. I’m sure they’ll be back today as they’re always close by. Yup, they’re back and Mojo is chasing one right now. We had a Zoom call with a college counselor or facilitator for Ty yesterday. She’s a person you can hire to help you through the process. With covid everything’s changed meaning all the rules. Most colleges don’t require testing anymore like SAT or ACT entrance tests which is a good thing as all kids are suffering in their education thanks to schools being not in session.

Biden is such an idiot. All he’s good for is reading scripts off a teleprompter. His eyes don’t even look at the camera and if a reporter can get a question in afterwards, he always says something stupid and even contradicts what he said a few minutes earlier. Good God, what a mess. Oh and since he cancelled Dr. Suess books they became the top selling seven items on Amazon yesterday. I saw one on Ebay for $670! We have a complete set from Mom. Looks like they just went up in price, ha. And last, Michelle and Barack Obama both read Dr. Suess books to children on tv while he was in office. Guess he didn’t know how offensive it was.

Ty has his last Wednesday of school today from 8 until 12. Then it’s work from home tomorrow due to teachers not feeling well from their second shot. Time to get moving, be well and God Bless.

No heat

Last night somewhere around 3am our heat went off. A breaker tripped on the panel and must have something to do with our electrician installing the fire pit breaker yesterday. I thought it was cold but usually sleep with the window open so I just thought the door was ajar or something. Anyhow Jeff is back today so we’ll figure it out. We flicked a switch and started the furnace but it did get down to 62 degrees inside.

I’m off to Denver for a new windshield. Should be home around 1:30 or so. We received a letter from Ty’s school saying he was exposed to a kid who tested positive but no need to quarantine and that he’s at low risk. What does this mean? If low risk, why send the letter? Oh brother.

Lori is in Edwards today and Vail tomorrow. I have to take the other car down tomorrow for a quick service appointment. Sometimes I pretend I live near New York and am just driving into the city each day which takes about the same amount of time. Lucky I don’t mind driving.

Time to go, be well, God Bless.

Home safe

Lori landed right on time and 2 hours and 10 minutes later we were home. She had a good trip although was tired as she didn’t get much sleep. All else was good.

Jag had bids from a bunch of different fraternity’s. In the end he chose Sigma Phi Epsilon which according to some friends of mine is the best one. They’re nationwide and have been around since 1901. Now comes the fun part, ha, pledging. I think the days of crazy hazing are over, let’s hope so. Congrats to Jag, this is a big deal. When one of the guys met him he said “hi I’m Jagger Fugate” and the guy said “I’ve heard about you”!

Today Ty has school and then is working out. I have a call or two and some computer work and Lori I think is working from home. She might be going to the office, I’m not sure. Tomorrow she’s in Vail and I’m taking the Mercedes to Denver for a new windshield.

My 24 hour fast went well. I wasn’t hungry until the last hour. I dropped 3 pounds which was half water but am down another pound today. No more updates, just sharing in case anyone was wondering. It’s going to be warm all week, we can’t wait.

Time to go, be well, have a great week, GB.
