Blue Sky

No snow yet. They still say it’s coming with one to two feet in Denver. Looking at 3 inches or so up here with maybe 6 total by Monday. We can live with that. Ty is going skiing today so we’ll drop him at the mountain. Lori went to the office yesterday and I worked from home.

Tom got the Pfizer shot yesterday and is doing well.

I haven’t said much about politics or Biden on tv but this guy is such an idiot. He had the gall to say that maybe, if we’re good little subjects, we can celebrate the 4th of July in our own backyards with just a few close family members if we wear masks. How ironic that the govt. is trying to tell us that on our Independence Day, the day that celebrates our freedom from an oppressive government, what we can and can’t do. Plus he must be living under a rock as we can bbq in our backyards now if we want to. I don’t need his permission. Now I know he didn’t write his own speech (he can barely walk) but it just goes to show you how out of touch they all are. They’re desperate to control us and hold on to their power which they see slipping away as the people are no longer falling for their crap. Maybe there’s hope for us yet. If you’re not sure what to do, do the opposite of whatever the govt. says, serious. Plus, do we live in a third world country? Get the fences and National Guard out of Washington D.C. Pelosi is keeping them there for optics. She’s worse than Sleepy Joe as he doesn’t really know what he’s doing or saying. Mark my words, no way he makes it four years. My cardiologist blames his wife saying any man who lost a wife and two children doesn’t have the mental acuity to be President. He should be retired somewhere playing with his grandkids.

On top of all this, the loser Governor of New York, who is a sexual predator, Andrew Cuomo, still refuses to resign even though 7 women, 7 WOMEN, have come forward. He says they’re all lying and he won’t bow to cancel culture. Remember this is the guy who called for countless Republicans to resign or face charges based on innuendo. But the bigger story is him lying about the nursing home deaths. This guy sent old people into nursing homes to die. He knew they were full of covid patients and yet he sent healthy people there even though Trump had sent a hospital ship to New York, and now we find out he lied about the number of people who died to make himself look good. Remember that, the huge ship sitting empty in the harbor? I hope he goes to jail. He’s probably thrilled with the sex allegations as no one is talking about him sending 15,000 old people to their death. And finally after weeks of pressure the two NY Senators called for his resignation last night. But still no Sleepy Joe or Kamala, the two that rushed to judgement on Bret Kavanaugh over hearsay from 1 woman, 1 WOMAN, at a high school party. Remember Kamala saying, “I believe her” and she even accused Sleepy Joe in the primary saying ” I believe Joe’s accusers”. Yet now, she’s nowhere to be found, quiet as a church mouse. What a hypocrite. Oh and where’s Hillary, ha ha ha. You can’t make this shit up but it should tell you all you need to know about the President and Vice President and democrats in general. It’s all about them and their power. Just look at the laws they’re passing, what a joke. But don’t worry, they won’t be here forever, people are stupid but not that stupid. When the free money runs out, even the uneducated will turn on them. I guess they could just send people checks every month forever to buy their support, hmmm.

And what about Jen “there’s no crisis at the border” Paski? The White House Press Secretary. Even the President of Mexico is calling Biden the Migrant President. Yesterday a democrat congressman at the border, who’s from Texas, said there absolutely is a crisis down here. When Trump was in office they called the border a huge crisis with far less, like three times less people coming over. Yet now they say it’s not important what you call it, bwaaah. And it goes on and on, wake the fuck up. Of, enough said, sorry for the rant. I had two cups of coffee this morning!

We’re headed to the gym this morning after we drop Ty. Lori cleaned the house yesterday so it’s all clean and nice. We’re super excited to go to Arizona in about 5 days, whoo hoo, sun and fun. Be well, God Bless.

Up all night

I went to see the Ear Nose and Throat PA yesterday and after explaining everything she had me lay back and let my head hang off the table in her hands. She then shook my head like she was shaking a bottle of something to stir it up. Then I had to lay on my side and slowly raise myself up. After doing this two or three times she told me I should be all better with one caveat. She said I can’t lay down or put my head down for 24 hours. Apparently there are little crystals that can attach to little hairs in your inner ear that throw your balance off. Jennifer, my PA, had shook my head so they’d basically fall down back in place and they need 24 hours to settle back down and if I lay flat or put my head down they’d just get stuck back on the little hairs. So I had to sleep basically sitting up all night long. Try that, it’s not easy.

I woke up several times and finally stayed up at 5:30 am. I’m tired and think at 11 this morning I could lay down but I’ll be working by then as I have a full day of stuff going on.

The big story is the big storm coming. Could be feet of snow in Denver and as little as a couple inches up here. Let’s hope that holds true. I told Jag to come up but he’s going to ride it out at school. Lori says he has a girlfriend he’s hanging with.

The hard thing about sleeping sitting up is the kink you get in your neck. Otherwise it’s not too bad but my neck is stiff right now, ugh. I think Lori is going in for a bit today and Ty is working out at 10:30. I have a Zoom call from 9:40 until 9:55. Then we have the appliance company coming out to fix a couple of things.

Blue sky up here now! Have fun, enjoy the snow, we need it. God Bless.

No more breakfast

When I came home yesterday from getting Ty from the gym, the deer were here eating away. Turns out Lori had been throwing them some bread and celery. I quickly put a stop to that as they were getting to comfortable being here. I actually had a hard time getting them to leave. One doe just stood there when I went out to try to scare them away. Finally I let Harley out and she ran them off a bit but they only went about 50 yards or so and then stopped and turned around looking for Lori and more food. So, no more breakfast other than what they can naturally find on the ground.

Yesterday it took Ty and I 90 minutes to get to school. The trip should have taken about 20 minutes. The highway was closed due to a crash. Then past Edwards the highway was closed due to another crash so Lori turned around and worked from home. All’s fine today but tomorrow the snow is coming they say.

Jag is staying in Boulder but coming up the following weekend to stay with Ty when we’re in Arizona. We’re anxiously looking forward to the sun and seeing Robi and Robert. Lori is in Edwards working today and I have a doc appointment with the ENT guy just to have him make sure my ear is healed.

That’s it. On the political front, gas is up over a dollar a gallon, thanks Joe. And worst of all, Joe has dementia. It’s so easy to see and everyone knows it. They abruptly stop any appearance or press conference he does before any questions can be asked. When he is speaking you can see him not looking into the camera but looking slightly to the left reading everything off a teleprompter and he still gets confused. It’s so sad. He’s just like dad was in the early stages. He’s clearly not of sound mind. He’s like a grandparent that’s being abused. Sooner or later they’ll remove him from office which won’t change much as he’s not making the decisions now anyhow. What a fucked up situation we are in for the next few years. Hold on as it’s going to be a bumpy ride. God Bless.

Snowing and blowing

Not much snow here yet but last night, and a little still right now, the wind was blowing and it was snowing. We only have an inch or two but it looks icy and miserable outside. Lori is suppose to go to Frisco today and Ty has school in Edwards. The news just said 47 inches in Boulder by Sunday! This reminds me of the storm of 2003 when we had about 3 or 4 feet in Lakewood. We’ll see. We told Jag to stock up now on groceries. Maybe he should come up for the weekend if he can get away. I’ll suggest it this morning.

I made it to Denver and back by about 1 yesterday. I picked Ty up from the mountain on the way home. He had a great day of boarding in the terrain park which is on the front side where they have all kinds of rails and jumps for tricks and stuff. Should be a good weekend on the mountain and not too crowded if the front range gets the snow they’re suppose to as no one will be able to get up here.

Guess I should get going. Hang in there, things are getting better every day. Let’s keep it going! God Bless.

one more drive

Today the burb gets a check up and I’m getting a haircut. On the way home from Denver I stopped for my annual check up with Dr. Greenberg, our cardiologist. Good news is I’m all good for another year. Amazingly my cholesterol is way down. That’s a first.

Ty is skiing or boarding today and Lori is working in Vail. She’ll drop him and I’ll pick him up on my way home. Our firepit is in and working and looks like a hotel. Our deer are standing outside looking at Lori waiting for her to throw some bread out or something. I see four but I’m sure there are more. She’s trained them to show up for breakfast every morning. They love bird seed but she gives them bread too.

Time to get moving. Snow’s coming in a few days. I think more in Denver than up here, nice. Make it a great day, God Bless.

Fun sun

What a day, sunny and warm. Two more on the way before a change. Last night Marty and Melanie came over for dinner. They called and said let’s go out but we thought it’d be easier and cheaper to just have dinner here. Good call. We decided to make it a Sunday tradition. We used to do Fridays until they moved to Frisco but now they have to bring Max to church group on Sunday’s. Fun time.

I’m off to Denver to have the windshield fixed in about 45 minutes so no time to waste. Lori will have to take Ty to school. Time to get moving. Have a good week and GB.

Sunny and warm

Ty had a good day on the mountain and is headed back up today. Meanwhile Lori and I went to Frisco and picked up a lawn chair we ordered last summer. That’s how long things take to get here with the crap going on. It’s so nice outside you’d think it’s Spring but not so fast as snow will be back next week.

In 24 hours I’ll be headed to Denver to have the windshield on the Mercedes fixed. You might recall I went down last week but they had the wrong one. Tuesday I’m having the suburban worked on and getting a haircut. Then I’m home for the week.

We’ll head to the gym again after we drop Ty. He has Zoe at 4:30 so he needs to be done skiing by 2. Jag is well, so is everyone else. That’s it, stay healthy and God Bless.

Back on the mountain

Ty and some buddies are headed to the mountain this morning. It’ll only be his second day boarding this year. He’s finally all healed up and excited to go. After we drop him Lori and I will head to the gym.

Yesterday morning we drove to the Eagle County Fairgrounds at 9 am for the drive up clinic for the J&J vaccine. They had it figured out pretty well as you’d drive into a lane in one side of the large building and while staying in your car, you’d fill out some paperwork and then pull up another 10 feet where a RN would give you the shot. Then you’d pull out the other side and stay in a lane with a bunch of other cars until 15 minutes was up and then they’d let you go. When you pulled in they put a Post It on your windshield with a time that was 15 minutes after your shot. The shot itself you could feel and it seemed like it took forever for it to get in. Must have been a pretty good dose of whatever. Lori said “ok, you’ve now been microchipped” , ha.

No side effects for me so far, knock on wood. I’m not really even sore in my arm where I had the shot. I can see a little red dot where they stuck the needle in but that’s it. Hopefully I’m past the point of side effects.

Jag called yesterday and needed some more cigarettes to hand out to any frat brother that asks him for one. It’s not good if he doesn’t have any. I told him to call Tommy as he can’t buy them in Boulder being under 21.

It was warm yesterday and more warm weather is coming. Looks like we’ll be in the 60’s until the middle of next week. That’s good news! Time to get everyone moving. I fed the dogs and now it’s time for coffee. Be well and God Bless.

Closed? Open?

I was off to Denver only to make it almost to Vail when I learned the Pass was closed. So I turned around and headed home. I made breakfast and around 8:45 learned the Pass was now open. So off again I went. I made it down around 11am and was on the way back up by 12:30.

Lori cleaned the house from top to bottom. Ty had school and by the time I was home I had a homeowners zoom meeting to jump on from 3 until 5. Eagle is booming and the town is updating rules and regulations. Lots of growth everywhere in Colorado. We should have put a wall up around the State to keep everyone out!

This morning I’m going to the drive up vaccine clinic at the fairgrounds at 9:10 am. I’m getting the Johnson and Johnson shot and am not really excited about it. In fact, I’d prefer not to get one at all but to travel to Europe I need to get one of them. It looks like the J&J shot is the lesser of the 3 for side effects. It is what it is, right.

It’s a little icy up here as we had some mist last night. No new snow and less than an inch on the ground here as you can see the grass sticking up through the light covering of white.

That’s about it. Hope you all are well and safe. Warm weather coming for the next five days, whoo hoo. We’re ready for Spring, bring it on! God Bless.

Rush

Jag called yesterday and he needs a few things to rush for his fraternity. Apparently he always has to have cigarettes on him in case one of his frat brothers asks for one. He also needs a cheap suit for something and a few other things he told me. Luckily he said he didn’t get one of the shitty jobs they handed out. I guess there’s one kid who has to get up at 5am every morning and send everyone a weather report. He told me about another one or two but I forget what they are.

I’m off to Denver to have the suburban serviced at 9am. I should be leaving there by 11 hopefully missing the little snow storm coming in and home by 1. I’m running down to see my buddy Art while they change the oil.

Ty is home today as I said yesterday. Lori too. Time to get moving so I can get out of here by 7am. Oh, cousin Lee and the entire family got covid and have been locked up in their house for like two weeks! I guess Walker, their youngest, brought it here from the U.K. where he goes to school and gave it to the whole family. Lee said it wasn’t that bad but he did have that guttural cough on the phone. He said he also lost his taste and smell but it’s 80% back. I was talking to an ER doctor friend of mine in Aspen and she was telling me of all the delayed side effects from covid that include just about any and everything you can think of. That includes Lori’s itchy rash (from her vaccine) and my vertigo I had last month. Kim thinks I for sure had covid sometime last year, hmm.

So there you have it, make it a great day and God Bless.
