Too much food

We’ve been eating and eating. it seems that’s all we do, ha. We’ve lucked out as the food has been really good. Part of that is we’ve been here enough that we know where to go and more importantly, where not to go. Last night we went to Morimoto which has locations around the World. Last time we dined there it wasn’t so good but this time we knew what to order. We had 8 pm reservations so by the time we were home we were all tired. I don’t think I’ll eat today, right.

This afternoon we’re going zip lining where we hang from ropes and zoom through the rain forest. Should be fun. Tomorrow we’re with Captain Woody as we have a private boat chartered. We found him through James and Francesca, our friends who have a house here and use him all the time. I’m sure it’ll be a great time and he’ll take good care of us.

Back in the States things are going well with the guys from Germany. Looks like we might be close to a deal but you never know. It ain’t over till it’s over, right?

Yesterday we took the kids up to D.T. Flemming beach where they have good waves. They had a blast but did get beat up a little bit. They wanted to go to the North Shore but we knew the surf over there would be too big. I’m sure this morning there will be more ocean action.

It’s sunny and beautiful. The three kids are getting along great. Ty is our resident entertainer that keeps everyone laughing and having a good time. I have a few more documents to upload and fax on the construction loan so I need to go to the business center. Tommy keeps texting me the number of days until the NFL Draft. I haven’t thought about it much as I’ve been too busy but now I’m getting excited, Go Broncos and God Bless.

Aloha

I woke up in Seattle pretty early at 5:30. My flight wasn’t until 10 but the time went fast. Soon it was wheels up and we were off for the quick 5 hour and 26 minute flight back to Maui. We landed right at 1 in the afternoon and my driver was out front waiting so I was literally in the car within 3 minutes of walking off the plane. By 2 pm I was back at the hotel.

I changed into my swim suit and headed down for some sun. Everyone was doing well and had a great time snorkeling while I was gone. For dinner we went to Fleetwood’s which is Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac’s restaurant. By buddy Jeffrey plays with him and works on his guitars. I’ll hopefully see Jeffrey later today. As you may remember, we go back over 40 years.

It’s 6:30 here now, 10:30 in Colorado. It looks like it’s been in the high 50’s and 60’s with rain instead of snow which we’ll gladly take. I can’t wait to start riding my road bike. Our construction loan is coming along and we should close this week on Friday if all goes well. There was a lot to do to get this project going. Cross your fingers.

That’s it from Paradise, hope everyone is well, God Bless.

Wheels up

There’s so much going on today. In 4 hours I’ll be back in the air for my 6 hour flight to Hawaii, taxes are due, ugh and the meeting with Christophe, Stephan and Nico continue here in Seattle. We all met up at the ferry around 2:30 and took a 20 minute ride to Vashon Island where Kay has a cabin. He bought this from the bank almost 6 years ago and has done quite a lot. It was originally like $800K but he bought it for a total of $160K as it was in foreclosure. It’s a great little rustic place. His son Eric and girlfriend cooked up fresh salmon, bbq oysters and shrimp steamed in sea water. The food was great and we all had a great time. More importantly was the time we all spent together, especially for me as I hadn’t met these guys before. Of course we hit it off and it seems like we’d all work well together. We’ll see how things turn out.

I should be back in paradise by about 1 this afternoon. Yesterday Lori and the kids went snorkeling and had fun. When I get back Ty and I are going to do some things as I guess Emma and Jag are kind of doing their own thing which is no surprise.

Hawaiian Airlines is nice but no United. The flight crew was super nice but the seats in First Class aren’t even close to the Polaris service on United. Still though, it is First Class so I’m not complaining. In have about 90 minutes before I take the shuttle to the airport. It’s 3:30 am in Hawaii due to the time difference so I’ll be tired by tonight. I just tried to pay the quarterly taxes to the State of Colorado and it says it locked me out of my account for 2 business days as I forgot my password, super. Oh well, time to go, take care, have a great day and Aloha! God Bless.

Arrived, Part 2

I made it to the airport in Kahalui around 1 and there were so many people it was unbelievable. Even the TSA line had over 100 people in line. Anyhow I made it to my gate with plenty of time and we boarded on time for the flight to Seattle. 5 and 1/2 hours later we touched down at 11:30 Pacific Standard Time. By midnight I was in my hotel across from the airport.

Lori and the kids are going to Molokini to go snorkeling this morning. They have to check in for the boat ride at 6:45 so when I woke up at 8, they were getting up at 5. I’ll head to the office at 1 or so and then get back to my hotel a bit after dinner. At 10 tomorrow morning I’ll be back on the way to Maui.

Hopefully it won’t rain today but it is Seattle. That’s it, time to watch Tiger Woods at The Masters. Have a great day, GB.

Arrived

We landed around 11:30 Hawaii time and headed to Costco. We then loaded up on supplies and it was off to the Hyatt Residence Club. Our room wasn’t ready so we all changed into swim suits and headed to the pool and ocean. An hour or so later our room was ready so we unpacked, cleaned up and then headed up to Whalers Village for dinner at Monkey Pod, one of our favorites and one of our top accounts.

We’re on the 7th floor with probably the best view we’ve ever had of the ocean. Emma is sleeping on a sofa bed so we’re a little cramped but it is what it is.

Around 12:15 today I’m off to the airport for my 5 hour flight to Seattle. There’s a chance I can take the 6:30 tomorrow night and get back at 9 but it’s more likely I’ll take the 10 am Monday morning putting me here at 1:20 in the afternoon. This morning Lori and I are headed to the gym and then for a walk. All the kids are getting along great and having fun. Jag and Emma do take off from time to time which is fine as Ty’s busy conquering waves and the pool.

You can hear the waves non stop from our room and the weather is great. We couldn’t live here (maybe Lori could) but it’s great to visit 2 or 3 times a year. Have a good weekend, remember the time difference, God Bless.

On board

It’s 5:32 and we’re all on board settled into our First Class seats. We have about a 2 hour flight to San Francisco before heading to Kahalui. With the 737 Max grounding nationwide we’re now on a 777 Polaris with sleeper beds, whoo hoo.

We made it to Denver by 5:30 and headed to The Chop House for dinner. It was so so. For dessert we ordered a souffle as Emma had never had one. The look on her face with her first bite was priceless as you could tell she was trying to be polite but didn’t like it at all. Turns out is wasn’t cooked and was basically raw egg whites, too funny. Then we headed to the Marriott at the airport and we were in our rooms by 8.

3:30 came early but it was right time to get up as when we arrived at the airport, it was jam packed. Thankfully we have Clear that bypasses all the people or we might have missed our flight.

Emma, Jag and Ty so far are turning out to be a good traveling group. They all get along and have fun together. Jag is super happy with Emma being here with us and so is she. She’s a sweet girl and very polite. It should be a fun week.

Tomorrow I’m off to Seattle, ugh. Then back to Hawaii on Monday. More to come but we’re almost ready to take off so that’s it, GB.

Countdown

We have some snow but the worst of it is over. We’ll leave this afternoon around 4 for our hotel in Denver but first have a lot to do. Lori and I had a college seminar last night at school that took up a good two hours we could have used on other things. It was a repeat of things we knew and lady who ran it is the worst public speaker there is making it painful. Oh well, today we all have a lot to do.

Ty has a cold, ugh, and Jag is getting ready. Both boys are packing for themselves. I’ll get Emma’s bags today from her Mom and also need to drop both dogs. I’m mostly packed but have the day to finish up my stuff. Lori and the boys need to be ready to go this morning.

It didn’t snow much after we made it home at 7:30 last night. Things should be fine when we leave later today. If we were leaving today or the storm was a day later, we would have had a tougher time.

Lots to do so that’s it. Hope all’s well, tomorrow am at 6 we have our flight so we’ll be up early tomorrow morning. God Bless.

Slushy snow

It’s snowing. Not that hard and it’s a really high moisture snow that is more like a slush. It shouldn’t really stick or build up as it’s too wet. We’ll see.

Today Ty needs to be at school at 7:30 and he has breakfast meaning we need to stop at the store and buy food for his class. Jag has things pretty much in order and Ty has just a few things to make up from theater and the flu. They only have today and tomorrow until we go so they have to wrap things up.

Lori and I made it to school by 3:20 which was perfect timing. Her back is still sore but maybe the gym will help this morning. She’s going in to work for a bit even though it’s her day off as she missed Monday and Tuesday.

It’s 5:58 am now and I need to get going to get the boys moving and take them at 7. Have a great day, GB.

Coming home

Today around noon Lori arrives at DIA, whoo hoo. It’s been hard having her gone this time but we understand. Lots going on up here and out there in California. That’s life, always something going on that you have to deal with.

Jag and Emma had a nice dinner last night. They’re really good for each other. Ty tried to get some science done but he and I were both lost as it involves some trigonometry. I thought they’d just save that for math class but apparently it’s used in science too.

Our hole is all filled up out back. Now comes dealing with the insurance company who doesn’t want to pay for normal wear and tear which this isn’t. Just need to prove that now. Also messing with our construction loan as they now want more money down due to the appraisal coming in lower. Doesn’t make much sense. It’s always something.

I need to get going as I need to take Harley to daycare early then drop the boys and then head to Denver. I have a few stops before picking Lori up. Then we’ll head up the hill. Snow tomorrow but not too much, hopefully. I also need to take Mojo out before leaving him inside for the day. Have a great day and God Bless.

Back home

Jag and I checked out of the hotel around 9 am and went to pick up Ty at Will’s house. Then it was a rush home so Ty could shower before heading to Starbucks to meet his math tutor. Then I took him to school for the final show of Chicago. Jag hung out and waited for Harley to get dropped off and then he and I both went to the show. After it was over there was a cast party in Singletree which Ty went to until 7. Jag and I went to pick up Mojo.

Today is Grandma Dixie’s birthday! Happy Birthday! It’s also Jag and Emma’s six month anniversary. Guess you celebrate six months nowadays. Ty and Zoe celebrated their one month anniversary a few weeks ago, wow, funny.

Lori comes home tomorrow and we leave Thursday night. There’s a ton of stuff going on, too much to even think about. I need to do some computer work and get the boys moving within the next 45 minutes so time to go. I didn’t get enough sleep and of course, as usual, neither did the boys, ha. God Bless.
