Last day of October, kids will be out tonight. We won’t have a lot but will get the neighbors. We have a big bag of candy so each kid will get like 10 or 20 candy bars. No snow on the ground and it’ll be 50 degrees today so that works.
I have a monthly call at 10:45 until noon and then will be chasing the last few orders of the month to try to get them in today.
The news just ranked Colorado as having the most difficult ballot to read and understand. It said you have to have the equivalent of 22 years of education to understand it, nice. So even the ballot itself is filled with misleading language trying to fool voters into voting for their amendment. That is a direct result of the Secretary of State (the idiot I mentioned yesterday) who authorizes what ballots say. Of course, with her being a democrat, which side do you think the language favors? What a joke. Hope they lose. We’d give anything for Colorado to turn red again.
At least soon, it’ll be over. Something has to change. We need term limits, but does anyone really think politicians will vote to fire themselves? I don’t think so. This is how great civilizations fail. History proves it time and time again.
Time to go, have a great last day of October and get ready for November, God Bless.
Should be coming in this morning. Don’t think we’ll get a lot, but we will have some. Frisco day for Lori. Hope the Pass is not too bad.
Our idiot Secretary of State published a list of all the passwords for the State’s voting machines yesterday. Just another huge gaff, but she tells us it’s nothing. Normally I’d agree, but this idiot seems to have some kind of issue every year or so, and they mostly benefit the Dems, hmm.
How about in Pennsylvania where Dems are dressing up as election officials telling people in line to vote that they have to go home at 5. The law says if you’re in line, you get to vote. These imposters are saying that it’s too hectic and there are too many people, so they have to leave. These are paid dem operatives acting as impartial officials. The GOP has filed suit in court, thankfully. So, the cheating by the Dems has started. In past years they tried to (or did) change the vote after the fact. This time they’re trying to suppress or stop the vote all together. You know they know they’re in trouble. Yesterday Biden called all Trump supporters garbage! That’s 80 million people! They’re trying tom say he didn’t say that, but it’s on video.
Lots of bad amendments here. We have one called 131 where they say, pick the top four candidates as this is the best thing for you. In reality, you could have four Dems, or four Republicans like in California eliminating the two-party system. If Governor Polis is for it, I’m against it. Vote that way and you’ll be ok. Only five more days of the lies and misleading ads. Can’t wait until it’s over.
I twisted my neck working out yesterday so will stick to cardio today. I walked out the hoses yesterday and put them away for winter. Lori will be breaking out the tree Saturday as after Halloween it’s game on.
5:45am now, time to get going. Have a great day, stay warm and safe and God Bless.
Looks like snow tomorrow. We’ll be ready. I managed to run down to the bank yesterday and was back in Silverthorne by 1:15 to visit with Marty. Glad I got that out of the way so I could stay home today.
Lori works in Vail today and tomorrow is her dreaded day in Frisco. I have a conference call at 3 today and need to run a few errands before then. Today I’ll winterize the outside of the house so the faucets don’t freeze. Looks like it’s finally the end for Lori’s hanging flower baskets out front. They had a good run, ha.
The deer are showing up as they get pushed down from the high country. They winter in our neighborhood most of the next five months. Won’t be long until the elk show up too. Good news is the bears will soon hunker down for their long winter nap.
It’s really dark outside right now. This weekend we turn the clocks back, so it’ll get light earlier, but that in turn means in the afternoon, it’ll get dark earlier. We hate Daylight Savings time. It’s outdated and we’re one of only a handful of States that still change our clocks.
Only a week to go until the election. Can’t wait until it’s over. Time to get moving. Make it a great day, stay safe, be well and God Bless.
Weather is changing and it won’t be long now until the first snowfall. But first, what a great weekend! CU and the Broncos both won, whoo hoo! Ty was at the Broncos game and again, had a blast. I think that was his third game of the year which is great.
Now onto the week. Last week of October. Halloween is Thursday and that means the Christmas tree will go up this weekend. Doesn’t feel like we’re there yet. Seems like we’re still in late summer or at best, early Fall. That’s thanks to the nice weather.
7am now. I have a large check arriving via Fed Ex today. I’m hoping I can get it at 10:30 this morning, and if so, I’ll run down to the bank. Lori works in Vail today but has Frisco this week. It always snows when she has to drive over the Pass.
Only 8 days until the election. Thank God! The Dems are throwing everything they have at us as they’re freaking out that they’re going to lose. They have way more money, but it doesn’t seem to matter. When you have been living through their policies, inflation, crime, open border, etc., that’s what you remember. Sure hope the Donald wins. Be ready for a false flag event or something to try to change the outcome of the election. Maybe God will just make sure things go right and save us.
Have a great week, take care, be safe and God Bless.
Yesterday was a fun day, from 5am when we woke up, to midnight when we finally went to sleep.
It started with a trip to the gym for a quick workout, then we were around the house doing stuff as Lori made a vampire cheesecake for the party. I talked to Marty around noon, and he asked what we were doing, and I said getting ready for the party. Of course, even though he was invited, he said, what party? I told him throw on his hunting jacket and come over for an hour or so to see everyone. He hasn’t been anywhere since his surgery a couple weeks ago and has been going stir crazy. He agreed to come so we were excited to see him.
We showed up a little after 6 and there was already a large group. People really go all out for this party and the costumes are always amazing. They’re so good, you don’t recognize most people until they speak. A few minutes after we showed up, Marty made it. He looked good but was a good 15 pounds lighter and moving slowly. Our neighbor, Nate, who is a doctor, was amazed how well he’s doing. We all hung out for 90 minutes or so until he was getting tired and headed home.
We met lots of new people and everyone loved our Ricky Bobby costumes when in reality we could have taken the coats off and looked like a couple going out to dinner on a nice summer day, in someplace like Hawaii.
Everyone was so complimentary of Ty. One local chef, Kyle, said Ty’s my hero! He said he always has a smile and is so nice and makes everyone’s day better. So nice to hear as parents, but we know that. It’s just nice to hear it from other people. Ty made a bet or something and I think went to his party as a Playboy Bunny! We’re waiting for pics!
We also met Blake, the chef of Senor Bear, which is one of our favorite, if not the best restaurant in Denver. Turns out he’s Chris’s best friend. Chris owns a couple restaurants up here and he and his wife Janelle are good friends. Think we’re going to their house for Thanksgiving. Cary, Blake the chef’s wife has three places of her own and is also a chef and placed third on the last season of Top Chef! She was super nice and we’re going to go to some of her places next time we’re down in Denver. By the way, they (all the chefs and food peeps) raved about Lori’s Basque cheesecake!
Later in the evening, Lori texted me, come in, as I was in the cabin with the guys smoking a cigar. So many people we didn’t know strolled in there during the night that I jokingly said to Andres, we need a lock on the door to keep people out. He said, oh there is one and turned the deadbolt. This is the cabin that is our cigar lounge and was built in the 1870’s so when he locked the door, he locked us in! I texted Lori to come open the door from the front, but it wouldn’t open. We finally went out the window and Andres got it fixed later, but we were stuck for a bit, too funny.
I was watching the CU game while there and made it home right after the second half started. Jag was on tv and sent us a picture someone took, (see below). It was a solid game, and we look like the real deal. Staying up until midnight though, is brutal.
Super fun time and day. I’ll get pics up from the party tomorrow. Have a great day, be well and Go Broncos! God Bless.
Tonight is our Halloween party and the Cu game! Big day! Yesterday it seems like I spent the entire day coaching up the kids, (40-year-olds) on my team, (the Company), on the basics of selling. One of our founding Partners wants to wind down and presented us with his ideas on how to wind down and retire. It’s a 5-year plan, (he’s my age), but it needs to be adjusted. He’s pretty delusional about some things, but that’s ok. Frankly we could just have him stop working all together, right now, and it wouldn’t cause any issues. He’s the least important and the most replaceable one in the Company. But being here since the beginning, he deserves some consideration. I’d want the same. We’ll find a happy medium. He’s going to get married to one of our pseudo employees in Italy in a year or so.
I think Lori wants to run over to Glenwood this morning as some of the stuff for our costumes, didn’t arrive. Halloween is always a lot of pressure costume wise. We’ll be fine though. Super excited about the CU game! Hope we win.
Kamala is falling hard and fast. I’ve never seen a more incompetent candidate for President in my life. Hard to believe in 2024, that’s the best we could do. Trump has flaws, but those are all related to his personality. His policies are great and we’re all hoping he wins in a landslide, which he should. We have zero respect for anyone who will be voting for Kamala, sorry, that’s just the way it is.
6am now, hope everyone has a great day. Take care, stay safe and God Bless.
Busy day yesterday. I was in Denver by 8:15 and headed out of town for home by 9. I had to run a few errands once I made it back to the mountains, and then was working around the house until 3:30 or so when I headed out to our weekly fellowship.
A couple minutes after I pulled into James’s house, he, Addy and his sister pulled in behind me, just getting home from picking her up in Denver. Road construction is horrible in the mountains in the summer as they can’t do work in the winter. His sister, Dee, who lives in Kansas, is here visiting for a while. James said she’s never been here before. She seems older than him, but I didn’t ask.
Tomorrow is the big Halloween party. Jag and Ava are going to the CU game. We all hate that it starts at 8:15 as it won’t be over until close to midnight. Good news is we’ll probably be home from the party for the second half, ha.
I have a couple calls this morning with Colorado and California. Yesterday I received about a million dollars’ worth of orders from Texas for one of our new products. It’s called Scarlet and is really taking off. This could finally be the elusive product that goes viral. Hope so! Nine containers from one client is like a whole month’s worth of business. Cross your fingers as when a product goes viral, they sell for tens of millions of dollars. I’m doubling down on this and switching up the entire company’s daily focus to selling it. Hopefully you’ll see it everywhere soon.
Day 4 of eggs only. I’ve had a total of one dozen eggs in the past three days for an average of 4 eggs a day, and nothing else. I do have coffee but that’s it. Funny thing is, I’m not really hungry. As I’ve said, the body is an amazing thing, in how it adapts. I’m going to keep going for a while, but obviously not forever. Food is too good. I’m hoping to get to the point where I 100% detox myself from sugar. Oh well, no one probably really cares but me, but I am down about 8 pounds.
Davy gave me a bunch of beef from his ranch yesterday and Andres brought all of us at cigar night, some fresh hatch green chilis from Hatch New Mexico, sweet. Lori and I are headed to the gym this morning. It’s 5:50am now so we should be there by 7 or so. Have a great Friday and Sko Buffs and Go Broncos! God Bless.
Harley woke us at 4:30am! Either she or Lori spilled a glass of water off Lor’s nightstand. I was getting up at 5 for my run to Denver anyhow. I need to go down for a quick turn and should be back before noon.
Yesterday, James, Davy and I strolled into Mile High around 10:15. Adam was wafting for us and over the next couple of hours, he, Andrew and Joe (my three go to gunsmith guys) took care of us and fixed up and outfitted us with all the latest gear. Just so happened that Ray, who own the best suppressor company in the World, (primarily military contracts) was there. He was a super nice guy and must have had over a half a million dollars worth of gear in his truck. I’ve known Randy, the owner of the shop, for over 20 years and have been doing business with him for that long. Probably could buy a second home with what I’ve spent with him, ha. Davy and James had never seen anything like the place. Mile High is basically a professional shop for departments and the military that sells some equipment to the public. They were like kids in a candy store.
I prepped Adam telling him no pics and the usual stuff and everyone was pretty chill. Randy’s wife was the most annoying (I’ve known her for 20 years too, ha) as she pressed me for a picture, but I told her no. I’m not her biggest fan anyhow. Imagine if a pic of James ended up on social media with some kind of gun. Just look at the internet, and how things are misconstrued all the time. Wouldn’t be good. After we were done, we grabbed a coffee and pulled around the back of the building and hung out to smoke a cigar. We then headed downtown to drop James at the hotel as Addy was driving down to meet him as his sister arrives today at DIA for the weekend. They’ll drive up today. When we pulled up the valet came to my truck door, and I said we’re just dropping our buddy. He saw James and said, “ah, welcome back Mr. Allen”. That’s James’s middle name and what he always books reservations under. I kept all the gear in the truck and will bring his cases to the house when we have cigars tonight. I told him don’t take that stuff into the hotel.
This morning Lori is getting 200 units of Botox in her head, neck and traps for her headache. Insurance covers this as it’d be thousands of dollars but apparently helps. This is not a cosmetic procedure at all, even though Lori would probably prefer some in her face, ha.
The expansion tank on our water heater failed yesterday morning so Walt (our plumber) is coming by today to replace it. He stopped by yesterday to diagnose the problem. Good to catch it before winter.
Almost 5am so I should get moving. I’m on day 3 of eggs only (2 or 3 in the morning and 2 or 3 at night), of my quick fix. I’m down six or seven pounds and will keep this up at least a couple more days, if not longer. The body is an amazing thing in how quickly it’ll adapt. I’m really not even hungry even though I’m eating only eating about half a dozen eggs a day and nothing else. I needed a reset as I have been eating all kinds of crap over the past few months. You feel really good just eating clean food.
Today is Robi’s birthday, whoo hoo! Have a great day and eat lots of cake! It’s also 2 months and a day until Christmas Eve! Here we go.
On a sad note, yesterday Shelly passed away. I guess Tasha took her off her oxygen at hospice and then it wasn’t long until she was on her way to Heaven. She had a rough life and made her own path. Tasha texted me during the night responding to my text earlier in the day. We’ll give her a bit of time before calling her. Not sure if Tasha is having a service or not. RIP sweet sis.
This morning James, Davy and I are off to Denver for a private session with my gunsmith at one of my military/PD dealers. They’re going to go through whatever we bring down and make sure we’re all set up and dialed in. I’ll pick James up at 8 and then we’ll get Davy in Vail as he had to run up valley early this morning. We should be back mid-afternoon.
Ty is working everyday trying to make as much money as he can. He has a great work ethic and is a stud at work. Jag is doing well studying away. Lori is in Vail today which is nice.
Looks like weather is coming in next week. It’s been a great Fall so no complaints. 5:50am now. That’s it, time to get going, have a great day and God Bless.
Had some snow in Vail yesterday but nothing at the house. Not sure if we had our first freeze or not last night. If not, it won’t be long.
Looks like we’re going to Costa Rica for a medical conference in March. Dr. B is paying for us and Lori wants to go, so go we will. We’ll do some fishing down there for sure.
Marty is finally feeling a bit better. Yesterday was one week post op. It’ll take time though as it was a big surgery. He’s bored as he can’t do anything but lay around.
Our Ricky Bobby jackets came yesterday for our Halloween costumes. Should be a pretty easy costume. More shootings in Denver, no surprise there. The news now has normalized it, just saying, “she was only shot in the leg and will be fine”, like, no big deal. When that happens, you know we’re in trouble as a society. This particular shooting was a robbery in Ft. Collins, which isn’t exactly a hotbed of crime.
Oh, we gave another $400 million to the endless war in Ukraine yesterday. That’s getting old, especially when the govt. can’t take care of hurricane victims here because Fema is, wait for it, out of money. Doesn’t make much sense. They always seem to come up with money for things they want and then tell us they have no money and want more for things they don’t care about, hmm.
Not much else happening. Only two more weeks of political ads, thank God! 6am now, have a great day and God Bless.
