Nice and white

What a change, my smile that is. I made it to the dentist a bit after 8 as I had to go back after dropping the kids to get some headphones and my Ipod. Thankfully I did as this blocked out the drilling sound and made the time go fast. 4 and 1/2 hours later I was done. I have to say, I look pretty good. Right now I have temporary teeth in while my porcelain veneers are being custom made. I go back this afternoon so they can adjust them. I think the length is a little long on one or two teeth. It’s quite advanced how they do this these days. Lots of pictures, digital scans, an artist (to make the teeth and get the color right) and other hi tech procedures. It’s pretty amazing, anyhow overall, I’m really happy.

Today Lori has a 7am meeting and I’m off to Denver to get the car serviced. Jag has a sore throat, probably from being on a plane. It’s warming up but next week we are supposed to get some days with rain and snow mix before it really starts getting warmer. It’s 5:45 right now so I’d better get moving. Tom and I are hanging out this morning while the car gets serviced. Hope all’s well, GB, and Happy Birthday to Serena, Lori’s sister!

New teeth

Well after 41 years, today I am having my front teeth fixed from when I had my front tooth knocked out playing basketball. That tooth has been essentially dead, and brown, for 40 years plus. I’ll be at the dentist from 8 until noon and then in about 3 weeks they’ll put the permanent teeth in. The mock up they tried on me a few weeks ago looked pretty good. So even though I hate the dentist, I’m going in.

Jag slept until after noon yesterday catching up on his sleep. Lori had a work meeting with Dr. C’s wife until about 8 last night. They went to Nobu for sushi! What a fun dinner meeting! Guess I’ll run as we need to leave early today. I think it’s warming up around here, and the snow, hopefully is over. Have a great day, GB.

Home safe

Last night, or should I say this morning, a little after midnight, I picked Jag up at school. As the bus pulled up, tired parents got out of their cars to greet their kids. It was like a scene out of a movie with kids streaming out of the bus under a moonlit sky, searching for their parents. You could tell all the kids were tired as it was 2:09 east coast time where they came from. They stumbled around like zombies in a fog looking for their luggage. All were glad to be home and all parents were glad they were home.

A little after 12:30am we pulled into the parking lot at home. Lori came down once she heard me come up and knew her oldest was home. It seemed like Jag was a couple years older in only a week! Today the entire 8th grade is off as the kids, and I’m sure teachers, are too tired. I was headed to Denver but with their snow and rain (it’s clear up here!) I think I’ll wait until Thursday.

Lori and I are up as both boys sleep. Jag said he’s going to get up to see Ty and then go back to sleep. I have plenty of computer work to catch up on so it’s probably best I postpone my trip to Denver for a couple days. That’s it from the mountains, hope all’s well and God Bless.

Jag’s coming home, hopefully

Jag’s supposed to arrive at school around 11:30 this evening. I’ll probably fall asleep and then wake up to go get him. Not sure if he’ll go to school tomorrow or not. He had a good time and I’m sure will have stories to tell. Maybe we’ll make him write the blog on day this week!

Yesterday Lori and I made another trip to storage with mostly fine china and clothes. After that we hit Costco and then took Mojo for a walk up in the Highlands. Ty went skiing with his friend and his Mom as it was the last day of the season. Turns out they only took two runs as there were too many drunk and high skiers skiing out of control according to the mother. People tend to party hard on the last day, it’s kind of a tradition with the younger kids.

During the middle of the night I woke up to a thud as Ty fell out of his bed. He got back up and went right back to sleep, poor guy. Guess I’ll run as it’s tax day meaning we have to pay about 4 months of our combined salaries to the govt. This year the govt has taken in record amounts of revenue but is still out of money, hmm. Do you think they’re overspending a bit? If any of us ran our household the way our politicians run our Country, we’d be on the street! What a joke our politicians have become, on both sides.

We’re excited for Jag to come home, Ty misses him a lot! Here he is eating crab somewhere, wish he could bring some home! Looks like he has a good pile! Have a great day, God Bless.

Spring snow

It looks like Denver ended up worse off than we did up here in the mountains. We did get a dusting last night but nothing to talk about. Watching the news, Denver looks much worse. It’s clear up here now and even though this is a minor inconvenience, moisture is always good for the State. Today is the last day of skiing here at Vail although most people are done for the season. Ty spent the night at his friend Sam’s house and might go up today but we’re not sure.

Speaking of Ty, yesterday afternoon he and three friends went to see the new Jungle Book movie which I guess was really good. Lots of parents we know also went. The theater was so crowded that they brought out a bench for the kids to sit on and then when they went to get some popcorn, other people took their seats! So they ended up sitting on the steps inside the theater! If I would have been there, I would have made the theater give the kids their money back. They didn’t seem to care too much though, as after all, they’re kids.

Jag is still in D.C. We hope he gets home tomorrow as scheduled. I think we’ll make another trip to storage today but first, we’re doing a deep clean around here. Lori is still sleeping at 7:45, which is fine as she needs it. Hard to believe it’s almost May. Spring should definitely be here next week. Let’s hope this is the last snow storm. Time to run, God Bless.

Stuck in D.C.

Due to the storm, we found out last night that Jag and 35 other 8th graders, are stuck in Washington D.C. until Monday night! They’ll now fly out at 6pm and arrive in Denver at 8 and then take a bus back up to Vail putting them home around 10:30 or 11pm. I guess they’ll probably be late or even skip school Tuesday. I wonder what this is going to cost us?

Now to the storm, it started yesterday around 11am when I was in Eagle picking up snow boots. It was a rain and snow mix down there and followed me half way back to Vail meaning it was coming from the west. By early afternoon it hit Vail. It started with thunder snow, which is a storm with lightening and thunder and snow instead of rain. The snow though was like mini hail balls about the size of peas. This went on for about an hour and then turned into huge wet flakes of snow that kept going until around 9pm. They closed the pass around 3:30pm and the town was packed with cars, trucks and semi’s waiting out the storm. I don’t know if or when it opened. I was talking to my Mom around 8:30 telling her how the power had been flickering on and off when bam, the cable and phones went down. Thankfully they’re on this morning. It’s not snowing now but is cloudy.

Around 12:45am our doorbell started ringing. I came down and looked through the glass at a kid with a backpack asking what he wanted and he said sorry, he had the wrong house. He was looking for the kid that stays in his Aunt’s house next door. Needless to say, it was hard for Lori and I to go back to sleep. That’s about it, we’ll lay close to home today. I think Denver picked up a little snow as well but am not sure how much. Time to run and go clean off the car, GB.

Back to storage

Looks like I need to run down to Eagle to the storage unit today to pick up our snow boots which apparently I took down a little bit early. We could get 10 to 20 inches of wet heavy snow, so the boots will be needed.

Yesterday Lori had clinic and I managed to get some laundry done along with some work around the house. Jag is having fun and will fly home tomorrow, weather permitting. Lori is eating vegetable soup all week but last night I cooked up red snapper that was flown in yesterday. I baked the whole fish after stuffing it with cilantro and butter and then just salt and peppered the outside after scoring it. It turned out great like it was from some restaurant in Hawaii.

Not much else going on, Tommy and I are texting daily about football. It’s a fun time of year for us as the draft is coming up and there’s something going on daily. Time to get Ty moving as it’s 6:45, hope Jag gets in and gets up the hill. God Bless.

Rain and snow coming

I guess it’s a super soaker coming, in Denver and up here. It’ll be wet and slushy with snow measured in feet! Hope Jag gets up from Denver Saturday afternoon when he lands.

Lori leaves at 6:10am this morning for a meeting. Ty’s still sleeping and my brother Tom is up as he’s texting me about a football trade. Tax day is Monday, uggh, I don’t even want to think about what we have to pay as it’s more than a small country, or at least seems that way to us. That’s a good reason to vote for Ted Cruz, a flat tax. It sure would male everything more fair and easier and take away all the advantages the big companies have over those of us without a staff of tax lawyers. Doubt it’ll happen, it’ll probably be Hitlery who announced a trillion dollar tax plan yesterday, super.

God help us and save us from the entitled who think they’re above us all. God Bless.

Jag has landed

About 4pm yesterday Jag texted that they just landed in D.C. Today I think they’re meeting with our Senator from Colorado and then touring the Capital. Not sure what is in store for the rest of the day.

Back home I’m taking Ty to the orthodontist at 8:30 and then he’s off to school. Lori and I both have work and I need to run to Fed Ex. I think it’s supposed to rain on and off for the next few days. Of course that could mean a rain snow mix for us. Guess I’ll run as it’s 6:15 and time to get moving. Hope all’s well, have a great day and God Bless you and yours.

Washington D.C.

This morning Jagger has to be at school at 7am for his school trip to D.C. I then am off to Denver for a quick meeting and Lori has clinic and Ty will be at school. He’s gone for four nights meaning he’ll be back Saturday. They all arrive home in Vail around 5:30pm. Hope they have fun and good weather.

Yesterday it was pretty nice up here but I heard it rained in Denver. Mojo is all pretty from being groomed last Saturday. I think I’ll take him with me to Denver as he likes to go everywhere in the car. Jag and I cleaned out our ski locker for the season after school so we have skis in the back of the truck that need to go to storage. Guess I’ll run to get everyone moving as Lori has a 7am meeting herself. God Bless.
