Thank you thank you

To all of you that sent congratulations and flowers for our 500th post, thank you, thank you. The rest of you must have been too tied up watching your Facebook stock and forgot!

It’s 5am and raining and today we have the last soccer game of the year and then the end of season party. We’re not sure if the youngest wants to play next year as it’s quite a bit more competitive with some games as far as 100 miles away! We’ll have to talk to him and see if he’s up for it.

The misses neck is still spasming big time but we’re super excited for our mini vacation to Wyoming next week. We might have to kennel the dogs as it looks like Aunt B is busy. Oh well it is what it is but we do thank her for all the times she has helped out in the past. I think the misses said she’s going somewhere with her parents. It’s nice for her to be able to go do something with them on the big holiday weekend. None of us or our parents are getting any younger! I have an idea, after the big weekend, I’ll post what everyone did! So all of you (Aunt B and Uncle T, Grandma Annette and Grandpa Jim, Grandma Dix and Pa Don, my Mom, and anyone else who’s reading) make sure to keep track of your activities and then we’ll post them for everyone to read. Hope the weather is good for you guys in California, looking forward to hearing what Grandma Annette will be up to. There’s probably big party’s on the river that will be tons of fun.

Can you tell I need some material? I’m sure you’re all tired of reading about how the boys go to school each day, how the misses neck hurts and that I go to the gym. Well if so, chip in, you can’t all be just sitting around all day watching tv.

I almost forgot, the oldest had a blood test yesterday and another test as he’s had a stomach ache for weeks. Our doctor is really good but retiring in about a month or so. Hopefully we’ll know what’s going on with him by Monday. He sure was brave having blood drawn as it’s a scary thing for a kid. We need to get him all fixed up as this has been going on too long. My Mom said it’s just nerves but after his exam the doctor overruled her diagnosis.

Well time for me to go to the gym (aren’t you glad I shared) so until tomorrow, God Bless.

Well today is the 500th post since we started this little project on December 31st, 2010. It’s hard to believe it’ been going on that long, it’s also hard to believe that 500 days is a year and a half out of our lives. In fact, if you think about it, if you live to 100 years old, that’s only 36,500 days. It doesn’t seem that long when you put it that way, so again, you’d better live each freakin day to the fullest.

Now onto the day. Yesterday the oldest came home with a stomach ache which he’s had for a few weeks, we hope it’s just a bug but it’s been going on awhile. The doctors seem to not be too worried. Meanwhile the youngest had his big play yesterday, one performance in the afternoon which Mom went to and one at 7pm which I attended. He was fantastic. The rest of the day was spent with me cleaning the house, doing some work and then running a few errands.

This is also the last Friday of the year for the boys at school as next week we’re headed to Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming for a long weekend. You might remember this from previous posts last year as we really love it. You can check it out at www.brushcreekranch.com.

Hope everyone is well, the misses now has sharp shooting pains firing off from her neck without notice all day long. The doc says this is to be expected but all of a sudden it’ll hit her and she’ll jump, kind of like being shocked or something. Hopefully soon it’ll be better.

Have a great weekend, God Bless

I can’t take it anymore

Ok, if you don’t like politics, stop reading now, this is your only warning. Here we go,

Yesterday started off normal enough, getting the boys to school, the misses neck hurting, a few phone calls and errands for me and then I heard it. It seems our President (or someone that works for him) decided to go and change the biographies of almost every President in the last century to attach himself to their accomplishments. Can you believe it? Unbelievable, see for yourself,

The Obama White House is drawing ridicule for appending the official online biographies of nearly every president over the last century in order to link President Obama’s accomplishments to the former commanders in chief.

The Obama team went into the pages of U.S. presidents dating back to Calvin Coolidge to add friendly looking “Did you know?” fact boxes to the end of their bios. Those additions were used to plug a host of Obama administration initiatives, ranging from the health care overhaul to the so-called “Buffett Rule” to his green-energy policies.

For instance, the following line was added to the official bio of the late President Ronald Reagan: “In a June 28, 1985, speech, Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multimillionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.”
But wait, there’s more,

“On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Today the Obama administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations.”

And this, at the end of President Lyndon Johnson’s, drawing a link between his signing of Medicare and Obama’s signing of the health care overhaul:

“President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare into law in 1965 — providing millions of elderly health care stability. President Obama’s historic health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, strengthens Medicare, offers eligible seniors a range of preventive services with no cost-sharing, and provides discounts on drugs when in the coverage gap known as the ‘donut hole.'”

The changes also link Harry Truman’s call for civil rights to the Obama administration’s push to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell.” And they link Jimmy Carter’s creation of the Department of Energy to Obama’s push for an “all of the above” energy approach today.

The Obama accomplishments cited range from the significant to the mundane.

On the bio of John F. Kennedy, the Obama staff cited the current president’s decision to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps with a “presidential proclamation,” as a way to link the current administration to Kennedy’s — which launched the Peace Corps.
Who knew he was a part of all the lives of these important men in history. At no time in history has a President changed the bios of former Presidents ever. And then to do it for political reasons, there’s only one word, shameless. I guess he wants us all to believe that he was part of every great historical event in our nations history, see for yourself,

Ok ok, I know, but think about what this guy is doing to distract us all from his record, this is what he’s saying. He’s freakin out, with good reason, as his campaign is in shambles. He can’t run on his record so he has to continue to try to divide us using race, class warfare and gender and it’s just not working. Some people out there think the guy can do no wrong, they won’t even be objective about it, it makes no sense. I support conservative views but at least am willing to listen to the other side. Too bad many of those on the other side won’t do the same.

I’ll stop now but the boys had a good day, so did I and the misses and we hope you all did too. Tomorrow will be more politics so beware…

Take care and God Bless,

A long day

Yesterday I left around 8 after dropping the boys at school and the headed out for the day. I finally made it home around 6;30 after a long productive day. This morning I need to run back up to Boulder to drop off a few additional items to a few clients. I saw a lot of people I knew from previous years and actually had a lot of fun.

The boys day was a blast from what I’m told. Mr. Collins, the principal, took them to Golden to Woody’s Pizza for lunch and then they both, with the assistance of Mr. Collins, played a prank on their friends. It seems they each called in a few of their friends to the principals office who thought they were really in trouble. When they arrived they found out that it was all a joke but they were sweating it I’m sure being summoned to his office. I warned each boy to look out for retaliation today but neither of them really care. Mr. Collins at the end of the day told the misses that we sure have good nice boys. That’s alway’s nice to hear.

It’s almost 6:45 and time to get the misses up. Her neck is killing her and when she spoke to the doctor yesterday, he said that’s normal but to expect it to get worse before it gets better! We’re waiting for a lawyer to give us a call to see where we go next on this journey. It was in the 80’s yesterday and supposed to stay that way all week long. It’s really nice in Colorado this time of year. Wasn’t there a song or a movie like Springtime in the Rockies or something?? Time to run so I’ll sign off now, have a great day and take care.

Principal For A Day

Good morning.  Today the boys are Principal for a day.  They will be helping Mr. Collins with his duties as Principal and then having lunch in his office this afternoon.  He (Mr.Collins) is ordering Subway for the kiddos and himself.  That will really make the boys happy.  I’m going to the school to take advantage of this photo  opportunity.  I also need to drop off some pirate props for the music teacher….she is using the pirate ship that I made for the school dance at the beginning of the year. The 2nd grade performance is Thursday at 7p.m. for any of you that can make it…I’m sure the youngest would be thrilled.  He has a line…”A Pirates Life For Me.”

The Mister is off already to make his rounds with a wine rep.  I think he may make it home by 5:30 or 6..long day of driving.

The house….yes, it looks as if a bomb went off in every room.  Seriously, every room.  There is a mess from breakfast, boy am I ever a messy cook. Laundry on the floor of the boys room and in front of the bathroom/laundry room. We have a pirate skeleton on the floor of the family room along with a toy cross bow the kids were playing with last night…and of course the ever present pooch hair.  I think I’ll only tackle one or two of the messes today.

The political commercials are hilarious…I wonder how many people believe what they see on t.v. There was a “Happy Mother’s Day” add that was really funny and perhaps true, but no one really knows..maybe the candidates.

Twelve days of school left….ugg.  I really enjoy having the summer with the boys, butI always worry about what is known as the “summer slide.”  The summer slide is not what it sounds like.  It is not a fun swirling, twirling slide that lands you in the water.  Instead, it is the backslide that every teacher dreads.  The kids come back to school 3 or 4 months behind from where they left off in the spring.  I plan on the boys enjoying their summer, but school is much more advanced than it was when I was a girl.  Second graders learn prefixes and suffixes as well as world geography and math that we learned in 5th grade.  The 4th graders are working on presentations, essays and the math of my 7th grade.  It seems like a lot, but they do it with no hesitation.   Amazing!!  Anyway, I usually have their workbooks for summer by now and plans for a bit of a summer schedule.  Not this year.  I think I’ll give Barnes and Noble a call this morning for workbooks.

I am off to let my barking dog in and hed to school for the photo opp.

Have a great day and God Bless,

LLF

Monday monday

Yesterday was a day filled with fun celebrating all of our Mom’s. We started out with the boys insisting that they make Mom breakfast in bed. The oldest one took the lead here making eggs, apples and coffee while the youngest tried to make cinnamon rolls choosing to forget that Mom doesn’t eat wheat. Then we gave her her cards and all got ready to start the day. We had slept in due to staying up late for the basketball game the night before so it seemed like it was earlier than it was all day long. For lunch we went to TNT Cafe in Morrison out by Red Rocks. The food was so so this time but the boys had milkshakes and french toast so all was good.

After stopping at Grandma’s we headed home where the boys played hard until about 7pm. While up at Grandma’s the oldest one managed to “fall” into the muddy pond and had his feet and flip flops covered with mud. The youngest soon followed as he too had a little mud on him. Both guys took showers and then watched the season finale of one of their favorite shows and then it was off to bed. The oldest guy was coughing bad as we think he has allergies.

Today I’m determined to fix my computer even if I have to go buy a new desk top. Dell was supposed to have my part to me last Wednesday but no such luck. Tomorrow I will be working “in the field” all day with a manager of the distributor in Boulder. I’ll need to go down to Uncle T’s today and print off some papers on his printer as my computer mess means no printer here.

The misses neck is sore but her headache is down to about a 4 out of 10. We don’t know of this will ever go away and today, after talking to our close attorney friend who’s now a judge, need to call an attorney. This is for our own protection as there may be lots of medical bills in the future, we just don’t know.

I’m a little sore today as we did make it to the gym yesterday and I worked out pretty hard. It’s been almost a month for me with no coffee, alcohol, red meat and little to no dairy, except in my protein shakes. I feel a lot better without coffee and alcohol, I’m just a lot more “even” throughout the day, no ups or downs. The misses is anxious to get back to working out but she has to take it slow.

Hope all’s well with everyone, take care and have a great week,

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom’s in our family, mine, yours, the boys, all of you. I can’t imagine a more difficult job that there is. It takes a special person to be a Mom and I don’t mean just having kids, but living up to all the responsibility that goes along with it.

Now, I can’t believe I didn’t get a single comment from any of you on my patriotic post yesterday. Does anyone not believe that our freedoms have been infringed upon? I hope you all read and thought about the post. Once freedom is gone, it’s really hard to get back, just ask the Germans, enough said.

It’s still cool today and we all slept in as Mom and I stayed up to watch the Nuggets game. We fell short just a bit but it was a good game despite all the bad calls favoring the Lakers. It’s hard to believe that in this day and age officials can be so biased.

I’m not sure what all we’re doing today, I think we’re heading to the gym but the misses will be only allowed to work her legs. She’s still sore but we think better off in the headache department. We’re still in that wait and see mode for a few more days, maybe a week before we feel really good about the whole thing.

Mom just ran down to the L.O.L.’s house to give the dog a shot, (yes she’s still doing that!) and then it’ll be off to the gym.

Hope everyone has a great day, especially you Mom’s! Take care and God Bless.

Saturday’s here

The youngest, Mom and I are up reading the paper and watching the end of the Phineas and Ferb movie the youngest started a few days ago, thankfully it just finished! Mom’s neck is sore but her head seems to be hanging in there. Today we have soccer at 11:30 and then we’re free for the day. I need to see if I have time to run to Boulder sometime to have my scope mounted on my 270 Winchester. It’s never too early to get out there and practice as it’ll be October and hunting season before we know it.

It’s still cloudy and cool this morning which is a nice change. In fact the misses has the fireplace going. Mothers Day is tomorrow and we’re going to lay low but will go up to Grandma’s to visit for awhile.

I’ve stayed away from politics intentionally which is a good thing as we’re starting to be bombarded by tv ads every few minutes. in fact our loser Pres is on tv right now spinning his faults trying to fool the people once again. I don’t know about you but I think it’s time to give the other team the ball, it can’t be any worse. How’s that for ya?

The oldest one just came down in a good mood meaning he got enough sleep which is a good thing.

In the newspaper today there’s an article about a tiny house. I guess that’s a movement that’s going on right now. Anyhow the article has a couple who built a 133 square foot house on a trailer out of old beetle kill lumber. It has a loft, a kitchen, a sofa and compost toilet and propane stove like those found on a sailboat. The entire cost was something like $20,000 and it’s really cool! Can you hear our wheels turning? Now of course we’d need more space with the boys but our life long dream, (and my dad’s) is a cabin up at the ranch. Maybe this is our answer as I do not want to be sitting around, again like my dad, in 10 or 20 years, saying “I wish I would have done that”. After all, no one is ever on their death bed saying “I wish I worked more” right?

We’ve also been investigating high altitude gardening and the feedback from professional gardeners and others has been really positive. It turns out you can grow all kinds of good stuff at 7000 plus feet of altitude. You do need a greenhouse of some sort (for year round growing) but that’s doable too. The missing piece is who do you sell your harvest to? Well that’s been solved too as our friend who owns Brush Creek Ranch (the uber exclusive guest ranch that cooks for 50 to 100 people each day) can buy all we can produce. So there you have it, now all we need to do is gear up to grow some stuff up there and have someone manage it. Maybe our dream of a farm/ranch will come true someday. Of course we’d still have to live in the city, for now anyhow but who knows what the future will bring.

Mom’s cooking away in the kitchen and Grandma Dix, Pa Don and company are having fun in Hawaii as she calls just about everyday.

Here’s some quotes to chew on for the day, see if you can guess who said them before I tell you below,

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

The god who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time.

What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add “within the limits of the law,” because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual.

The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.

I wish I could say that I said all those things…
Those are quotes from Thomas Jefferson, who definitely had it right. They sure still ring true today.

How about the last quote, “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground”?! This sure is what has been happening in America lately. No doubt about that.

People have been relinquishing their liberties with frightful and ever increasing speed. The liberty reduction curve has gone parabolic. All in the name of ‘terrorism’ it seems. We all went willingly following 9/11, but here we are 11 years later and we are seeing executive order after order, and laws upon laws further diminishing our freedoms as free individuals.

I sense in my bones that something is going down, and that the guberment is getting their ducks in a row. No, I’m not paranoid. I’m a skeptical person, who can add 2+2… My gut tells me that the end game is nearing regarding the world economic condition (nations and their banksters). Since it is all tied together in a corrupt web of electronic bets and counter-bets, that a rapid collapse domino effect could finish it all. A best case scenario will be a somewhat controlled crash landing – but the real crash is still to come.

In the mean time, we can fight for our rights for liberty by raising awareness and talking about any attempts at takeaway to our friends and family whenever you hear about a story or news report as such (it will mostly come from the alternative news media – not the main stream who only wants you to focus on fluff).

When you hear or read something that doesn’t sound quite right to you (e.g. the Dept. of Homeland Security buying 450 million rounds of ammunition, or the NSA building the world’s largest spy center in Utah to track Americans, or that congress is introducing an amendment to outlaw self defense), check it out for yourself. Check multiple sources and dig for the source of the original information. The main stream will NOT report on such things. It is up to you to find and expose the truth as to what is going on. Sure, there will be some alternative news that turns out to be stretched way out of reality, but there is an alarming amount of reality as to what has been going on too.

When you find a truth that is stripping more of your liberty, do not accept it or the excuse that is used. Fight back. Even though I suspect that most of us don’t have much hope in the results of calling or writing our representatives, but, if we do not, then we are doing nothing within the system to make a difference. Do it anyway. Even if it seems futile. Plus, talk about it with others. If we keep to ourselves, we are to blame when our liberty is stripped from us.

Hope this wasn’t too much for you to think about so early in the morning but once you lose something, it’s hard to get it back. Just think for yourself, you don’t have to let NBC news and politicians think for you. Think bout it,  your parents and Grandparents did just fine without all the regulations and supervision from the gov, didn’t they? I sure think so, what do you think?

Take care and God Bless,

Wireless is back

After an hour or so with my neighbor helping me, we now have wireless connections back in the house. I still haven’t received my power supply in the mail, I’ll never buy a Dell again! We had a good day but the misses probably did more than she should. I stayed up late to watch the Nuggets smash the Lakers by about 25 points. It will be something else if they win Saturday night.

It’s cooler today by about 30 degrees and feels good outside. Both boys had a good day at school and had their usual playtime after homework was finished. They’re both a little tired this morning, especially the oldest one who’s a little dramatic right now.

We need to keep the misses on the couch today taking it easy as she still needs to rest. Of course I could or should be making breakfast right now instead of her.

Time to run so I can help. It’ll take me a few days to get back into writing long posts. Take care and God Bless,

Keeping our fingers crossed

While it’s a little early to throw a party, the misses woke up with a sore neck (which is expected) but not much of a headache. This is good news! We’ll make sure she lays low today as directed and hoepfully the trend will continue.

She’s now on the couch taking it easy as she should. I just took the boys to school and am working downstairs and have calls lined up for the next 2 or 3 hours. Grandma Dix and Pa Don made it safely to Hawaii yesterday despite Pa Don’s oxygen levels being low on the plane. When Grandma Dix called she was sitting on the curb waiting for Pa Don and Aunt Myrna with the rental car. I told the misses to tell her that if we were there, she would be already in her car with her bags loaded and on the way to her hotel!

Time to run, I’m hoping to get my computer up and running today if my power supply finally arrives. All else is good, lots of work to do so time to run, take care and give the misses a call or drop off some chocolate and flowers for her, ha ha.

God Bless
