Fun dinner

Yesterday after a busy day doing who knows what, we headed to the Ferer’s for dinner. We had Emma with us as they went swimming earlier in the day. We arrived a little after 6 and were home just before 11. We had a really nice time and the time flew by. It was hard to get up but Harley’s internal clock goes off at 5:45 am so that’s when we rose.

It’s a work week for us as usual even though it’s the first week of June. As I said yesterday today is Mom and Dad’s anniversary. Not sure how many years but I know today is the day. We ate so much last night (we think it was the guacamole and chips) that both Lori and I had stomach aches. I’m still so full and I don’t think I’ll eat for a week!

Ty is going to La Bottega to try to get a job today. He had a crash on his board the other day and his calf is hurt so he’s been limping around. All the kids skateboard in basically empty swimming pools as that’s how they make skate parks these days.

Time to go as it’s 7. Looks sunny again. They had rain and hail in Denver yesterday but it was nice up here. Hope that continues. Have a great day, God Bless.

Slept in

This morning I woke at 5:45 as usual to take the dogs out and then went back to bed until 9:30. I must have needed the sleep. I sort of laid around in bed though and didn’t really get all the way back to sleep. Both boys are still out but Lori is up making Eggs Benedict for the boys.

Lori and I ended up going to dinner with Mel and Marty which was fun. Tonight we’re going to the Ferer’s, (Emma’s house) for dinner. Ty really doesn’t want to go but we’re making him anyhow.

It’s sunny out and nice. We joined the Westin pool, gym and spa yesterday as a family for the summer. It’s only $750 for the whole summer which is a deal and we’ll quit our other gym while going there so it’s revenue neutral.

Tomorrow is Mom and Dad’s anniversary, just a reminder. Next week Jag and Ty will get busy with their work. Ty has a tutor twice a week and Jag on and off as he has the ACT I think June 8th. Then we have Aspen Food and Wine the 14th through the 16th, then the Bocelli concert the 21st with 18 of our closest friends, and then I think Ty goes to the Woodward Skateboard Camp on the 23rd. So lot’s going on. I have to go back to Aspen next Friday too.

That’s it, I need more coffee. Sorry for the late post this morning. Have a great day, God Bless.

Aspen and Rocketman Part II

You all know from yesterdays post I was in Aspen and then we went to Rocketman. All went well in Aspen, it was beautiful as always (there’s a reason something like 5% of the World’s Billionaires own homes there) and my event went well. I left around 3:30 for home putting me here around 5:20. About an hour later it was time to head to the movies.

I has talked to my good friend Marty on the way home and he and his wife Melanie decided to go with us. We met them at the theater and when we went to our seats we found people sitting in them? It’s reserved seating so we were confused until we learned Lori had bought tickets for the night before! Anyhow we exchanged them and then the four of us got to sit together.

The movie started out (I won’t spoil it) with a scene like it was a musical. Without giving anything away, it is a kind of musical but after I made it through the first little bit, I didn’t notice it and it was good. Lori and Mel loved it. It’s funny as it shows how fucked up Elton John’s life was and earlier in the day Ty and I were talking about how everyone, and I mean everyone, has some kind of issue in their life. Well, Elton John had a bunch which you’ll see if you see the movie. Anyhow as I said, it was good, just not what I was expecting after seeing the Queen movie. It was brave of Elton to put his life out there like he did in this movie. I’m not so sure all of us would do the same.

Today it’ll be in the 70’s up here. Jag has an ACT/SAT tutor from 9 to 10 and then I’m not sure what we’re doing. Emma and Jag went to Rocketman at 4 down valley in Edwards and Ty might go today. Lori is sleeping but Mojo woke me at 5:40 am, thanks a lot. That’s about it, time to wrap it up. Have a great weekend, God Bless and Happy June 1st!

Aspen and Rocketman

I have a quick event in Aspen this afternoon from 2 until 4 and then will rush home to make the 7 pm showing of Rocketman, the movie based on Elton John. It comes out today and Lori bought tickets yesterday as she’s been wanting to see it.

Yesterday was more of the same as will be today. Tomorrow is June 1st, wow. Not sure what the boys will do today. Yesterday after the college thing Jag went to Emile’s and made it home around 8:30. Ty went to the movies with Sammy, Tegan and Will. I picked him up about 9 pm.

I did manage to sneak in a workout which was great. Dr. C. and another doc head out to Portland this afternoon for some seminar this weekend so we arranged for a good dinner and other amenities. Should be sunny here this weekend. Might go look at a used car tomorrow for Jag.

That’s it, time to run, God Bless.

An early morning

Lori has to be in her office by 7 as they’re shooting a new commercial for the clinic. Their tv commercials constantly win awards and are pretty good.

Jag has to be at school at 9 for a college prep seminar that lasts until 2 and then he has his ACT tutor from 3 to 4 via Skype. Ty is home safe and needs a particular book for summer reading so we’ll try to find that today.

We have James going up to Mom’s today as the place needs some TLC. I guess the grass is pretty long and the weeds are blooming. Time to clean it up a bit.

Tom has his landscapers working away and today they’re putting up the construction fences for our house and will be moving dirt on Monday as yesterday we finally got our permits!

It’ll be warm this weekend and we’ll be doing some purging around here. We’re throwing out one of Mom’s old chairs as it finally broke a few days ago. We’ll need to find something to hold us over that’s not too expensive.

I’m taking Lori to work this morning so time to get moving. it’s 5:57 am now and I could use another cup of coffee! God Bless.

Warming up?

Yesterday Lori commented how it looked like Seattle outside. It was grey and rainy and stayed that way most of the day. The only thing missing was the socialistic Antifa crowds which thankfully our weather and geographic location keeps away for the most part.

Ty is still in Denver and I’ll pick him up around 1 this afternoon. Lori was headed to the gym but our trainer texted at 4 am that he was sick. Jag went to Emma’s and then they went to a movie.

They say 70’s and 80’s are coming. I’ll believe it when I see it. If and when it does, prepare for lots of runoff and even some flooding. Snowpack is close to 200% of normal and that water has to go somewhere. June 1st Saturday, wow.

Here in Colorado our new Governor is out of control. He’s signing law after law that the majority of the State does not want. There’s a big recall effort and they just might get him out. You hardly recognize the State anymore as it’s more and more like California every day and we all know how well that’s working.

Time to go as it’s almost 6 am. Hope everyone is well. We hope to break ground any day like possibly tomorrow or Friday. Have a great day, GB.

White outside?

It’s back, the white stuff. Outside we have about an inch of snow, wow! I guess they had hail in Denver so we’re not complaining as ours will melt off quick. The weather across the Country is all over the place this year. So much for global warming.

Ty is living the life down at Ben’s. I’ll pick him up tomorrow. Jag went to Lexi’s yesterday to hang out with her and Emile. He’s the guy with all the hair in the picture yesterday.

Lori’s back at work today and it’s clinic. That makes for a long day usually. Not much else going on. Time to get moving. Hope you all are well, take care, be safe and God Bless.

Memorial Day

Today doesn’t mean much to the younger generation except another day to party. I’m not sure where the cut off is between those that understand the meaning of freedom and the sacrifices that those no longer with us paid, and more importantly, what for. It’s really heartbreaking to read that 40% of young people like socialism. Apparently they didn’t pay attention in school. Anyhow say a prayer for all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and a big thank you to all those that served.

Yesterday we took off around noon and dropped Ty at Ben’s around 1:15. Then Lori and I headed to Tina’s to drop some wine before heading to the mall to pick up her guard ring that was being repaired. Then it was back to the party. We stayed until about 6 and saw lots of friends. They throw good party’s. They had a food truck most people liked but Lori’s burger wasn’t too good. Anyhow it was fun.

We made it home by 8 and apparently there was some thunder and Mojo ran upstairs and peed right when we got home, ugh. We cleaned it up and hit the hay, as they say.

Today we’re not sure what we’re doing. Maybe we’ll go to breakfast. The dogs have had theirs and been up the hill. Here’s a picture of Jag and Emma, a couple of him and his buddies, one of a bunch of them and my new bike which is amazing as they’ve come a long way! Jag’s one good looking kid! Note all the snow, unbelievable. Lori has the pictures of Ty on her phone I’ll have to get, enjoy and God Bless.

Party party

Today our good friends Jeff and Tina are having a party. We’ll head down around 10 or 11 and be back sometime this evening. Tina hired a food truck that is seafood themed with fish and chips, Shrimp Po’boy’s and more, should be fun.

Yesterday after getting fitted to my bike I headed up the hill. David is making a few last minute adjustments so I’ll get it Tuesday or Wednesday as he ordered in a new pair of shoes for me on him.

When I made it up, after stopping for groceries, Jag needed to go to the skate shop for some shoes for skateboarding. Your shoes get ripped up pretty good so he didn’t want to wear his good ones. Then I took them to the skate park. Actually I took Ty first then took Jag home and took him an hour later after he decided to meet Emma down there. The skate park is where the summer social scene takes place. I had no idea so many kids were into skateboarding.

I picked them up around 5:30 and headed home for tacos. Lori had bought tickets to go see John Wick 3 so she, Jag and I went to the movies. Ty, even after much prodding, decided to stay home. Turns out he was the smart one as it was a pretty bad movie. Oh well, can’t get them all right.

We’re headed to the gym after coffee. Jag and Emma are staying here for the day and Ty is coming with us and will then stay down for a few nights at Jack’s house if we ever get ahold of his mom to confirm the boys plans.

That’s about it, time to go, hope everyone has some fun plans today. it’s going to be 80 degrees in Denver, about time. God Bless.

My new bike

I’m off to Denver this morning to hook up with Dave who built me up my new road bike. It’s a BMC from Switzerland. Can’t wait, it’s been a few months since we started.

Yesterday I picked the boys up around noon and then summer started. Skateboarding, room cleaning, hanging out with friends, summer camp, internships at the clinic, a few trips, it’s all coming up. I even washed the Land Rover!

I should be back by noon and everyone else is sleeping in so time to get moving. I’ll try to get pictures up soon, have a great holiday weekend, God Bless.
