I think I’m allergic to nuts. We had a fennel salad the day before yesterday and Lori put a bunch of crushed up pecans on it, and I was itching all day yesterday. I’ll start the process of elimination and see what it was.
Ty went out last night after work. I called him around 2am and he answered saying, “just dropped the guys off and passing Wolcott now”! He was home about 15 minutes later and of course, didn’t have a single drink. We’re so proud of him. He looks like a sculpted marble statue. Amazing how he’s transformed his body in six months.
We had some good rain last night when we were going to bed. The thunder was crackling big time and then the downpour came. Nice to get the water. Soon we’ll know what kind of winter we’re in for.
Nate and Dea, our neighbors, bought a new Escalade yesterday. I helped them get a good deal by negotiating with a couple dealers for the past couple days saying Dea was my sister. Looks like a great car. Nate traded in his 2024 Denali truck as diesel is so expensive these days. Dea’s Yukon XL is in the shop getting fixed as she drove over a bunch of rocks in a rock slide and messed up the under carriage. They’ll sell that after it’s fixed. The Cadillac Escalade was $135,000! That’s for a 2026 and you can order the 2027’s now! Crazy how expensive new cars are these days. Range Rovers, BMW’s, Escalades, any nice new hauler, are all well over $100k. Even a Chevy Suburban is $100k! Everything is more expensive, which is true every year.
Problem is for the past five or six years, prices have accelerated and wages haven’t kept up. If Trump doesn’t get gas prices down (it’s the number one issue as people fill up every week at least), he’ll lose the midterms, and then crap will really get expensive! If I was President, I’d suspend the federal fuel tax, stop all tariffs and raise the capital gain limit to $2 million dollars. This would lower prices the next day and jump start the housing market at the same time. Too bad I’m not President.
Nice outside, cool with blue skies. Looks like the high 80’s today which is better than the high 90’s. Have a great Sunday and God Bless.
